Bidding time increased
I bid on an item and was the highest with 14seconds left to closing. All of a sudden the time for bidding jumped to 10minutes left and I lost the item. I could have increased my bid again but thought it strange that the time jumped and I was concerned someone was messing with the bidding. Can anyone shed Alittle light on this happening?

OP4 years agoThanks everyone for your input. I understand much better about the bidding process and will change my attitude accordingly. Actually I did bid quite high and the other’s bid kept going higher because my highest bid was sitting on the sidelines. This is a very informative place to come with questions. I felt there were 4 really helpful replies and 1 not so much to my situation so thanks again.

·2 years agoon my computer - - I refreshed and then I bid at 31 seconds I was winning at 20 seconds when I noticed there suddenly was a minute and 15 seconds I was still winning up tp 10 seconds again - - - - - then suddenly I had lost - I believe it can be off by one minute or half a minute - - - - but I should have hit the refresh button at 40 or 30 seconds I believe I would have known to rebid sooner - - - -my biggest mistake was I should have waited until it was at only 20 seconds 30 seconds was long enough for the other person(s) to submit a new bid - - I almost was able to submit another bid but I was not 10 seconds fast - I needed 12 seconds -

Your biggest mistake was thinking reactive bidding works on eBay. Bid once and make that bid the absolute highest amount you're willing to pay.
