Bidders name keeps changing
I am bidding on an item and have been out bid by the same buyer-we are the only two bidding. Everytime I check the bid history, their name has changed-same bid amoit and bidder's changing name alays has the same number of purchases. I am now leery of bidding on the item because it looks fishy. anyone had similar experiences and who could I report it to?

eBay masks bidders’ names by putting 3 asterisks inside 2 of the characters in their Usernames. The characters used are occasionally changed … but you can recognize the number in parentheses (their Feedback Score) as indicating it is the same person.
BTW, the same thing is happening to YOUR Username in the Bid History … as others see it. There’s nothing ‘fishy’ about it … just eBay protecting bidders’ privacy.

·7 months agoI wouldn't worry, If I'm reading correctly, it sounds like the other bidder has a higher max bid and they just keep topping you. We never see their actual user name, all other bidders "names" are all formatted the same

·7 months agoNo need to worry. You are not seeing a bidder’s actual name. The other bidders’ names appear masked to you and will periodically change for security and privacy reasons.
