Bid changed?
Recently bid/purchased an item and went with the last second snipe. I bid 25.50 for the item but I only ended up being charged 17.50. Any idea how this happened? I'm happy I saved $8 but I'm confused as to how.

·3 years agoThe winning bid will be only one bid increment above the second-highest bid. That's how eBay's automatic bidding system works.

The only exception would be if there was an unmet Reserve on the auction: If your bid met or exceeded the Reserve price, then the high bid showing would immediately jump up to the reserve price, and you would win the auction at that price if nobody else bid against you.
