Best offer accepted
I've read here that if you make an offer & it's accepted payment can just go through. I'm wondering how does a buyer know this will happen, besides directly messaging seller if they require immediate payment? Is it visible in the listing somewhere? I wait until offer is accepted then transfer funds to pay within the day. Thanks

·3 years agoThe buyer may not know that it will happen, but when a buyer is presented with the requirement to present that payment information they will need to do so, or the "offer" can not be placed.
Still some are caught unaware the 1st time. We have seen posts where a buyer "in the test group" has provided a payment source, made the offer, had the order accepted, and then the buyer is appalled that the payment was taken for said item from the source provided.
After the 1st time the buyer will know that the seller has not opted out of requiring "those in the test" to provide a payment source.
As kathiec posted............ they can back out when confronted with "providing a payment source"............

As ebooks posted.......... seller can "opt out", ............................... but the seller does not decide which buyers are "in the test group". eBay does that randomly with no apparent rhyme, nor reason as to which buyers are selected.

·3 years agoIf you're dealing with a seller who hasn't opted out of immediate payment when an offer is accepted, when you're making the offer you'll be presented with a screen asking you for your payment information. If you see this and don't wish to proceed, all you have to do is click out of it. That will take you back to square one as though the offer never existed.
