Auto Payments
Auto Payments feature needs improvement to allow for sending combined shipping invoices BEFORE charging buyees shipping on every single item.
Plus, some buyers won't buy if Auto Pay is required.
My listed items became "Auto Pay" without my approval cuz if I was asked I would sa "NO".
When is eBay going to truly listen to long time users about needed eBay improvements and actually implement them?

·2 years agoAs a buyer, I do not wish to use autopay. I do not always use the same payment source and I would have to go to PayPal each time to change.
Today was the first time it happened to me. It happened in a flash. I wasn’t aware that this was a payment method. Can I, as a buyer, shut it off?

No. Once eBay enrolls your buyer ID, you will face the same problem with every seller that retains the buyer preferences shown in message #7. You will have to provide a payment source in order to proceed. Personally, I don't proceed and buy someplace else.

·2 years agoAlthough Ebay itself may in fact be thriving, autopay is resulting in declining & lost sales for sellers in this poor economy
Auto pay on best offer & auctions with pre authorization & immediate payment required, appears not to be immensely popular with paying buyers.
Now that the public has become aware of this purported " smoother & more convenient " payment system, let's hope auto pay, may attract manny shoppers to discover & purchase on ebay.

If anything Auto Pay may raise the number of Non Payers, the problem it was supposed to help solve. It has been 7 months since ebay said they would work on the combined shipping issue, and still no movement. But then they also said they would improve their untested Cassini search 2 years after it was foisted on us, and look at what their "fixes" have produced. Just ask the 9% of their workforce that just got let go.

- now some buyers that are required to autopay have 3 days after the first auction win
- to arrange a combined shipping discount for any additional auction wins in those 3 days
- before eBay tries* to charge the buyer's autopay for the total of all the auction wins
- if the buyer did not manually check out with a combined shipping discount.
*won't work, because my credit card is maxed out
And I was in Vegas talking to one of the 9% laid off that know everything about eBay, and that authenticator thought Cassini was a Magic To Go MTG trading card!

If you have not already, you as a seller can "opt out" in "buyer requirements".
eBay is working on/using a 3-day auto-pay at this point that will allow for a bit of a delay where sellers have not opted out.
I do not know how extensively that 3-d ay program is being done. Have read nothing official from eBay, but they have at least listened a bit.

OP2 years agoI should not have to "Opt Out" as it should never have been added to my listing in the first place without my knowledge or permission.

As far as permission goes........................... well, unfortunately we have given eBay the permission to do just about anything that they want to do when we use the site.
