Authenticity Guarantee seller shipping SCAM please help
I purchased item number 305493383404. After I hit buy it now I saw it was a fake…the date code is upside down. The scam seller shipped it to a the city where the authentication center is… Moonachie, NJ and then delivered to a P.O. Box in Wood Ridge, NJ.
Authenticity guarantee items don’t go to a P.O. Box. and they don’t go to Wood Ridge, NJ.
On tracking because it was “delivered†it shows â€arrived at authenticator†but it’s not it’s a scam because the authenticator isn’t in Wood Ridge.
I can’t get in touch with authenticity guarantee and I can’t get a live person at eBay.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the tracking.
What do I do?

·1 year agoYeah, I'm going through the same thing right now sadly for some shoes that I wanted. Ended up in Wood Ridge, NJ just to never be heard from again

Thank you for understanding.

·1 year agoDid you receive your item? Also, did the seller respond if you contacted them?

·2 years agoIm so nervous now. I purchased a bag without looking up the date code online beforehand, and now I suspect the bag is fake because the code is not showing up on any of the online authentication sites. My bag is also going to Wood Ridge for authentication. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I wasn’t scammed and end up with a dud.

·2 years agoI know this is late but I wanted to let people know that AG items ARE sent to P.O boxes if shipped with USPS, and they are later transported to the hub.
janet9988
·2 years agoFor most all AG items the policy states that PO boxes are NOT eligible for the AG program.

OP2 years agoIt was this way but they have since changed. @seabassup is correct.

·2 years agoMaybe it's because I started mensatruating last night or wisdom is still chasing me, but it seems that (begins singing) one of these things is not like the other:
-- Shipped to AG at a PO Box
-- versus cannot ship from AG to a PO Box.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoYes, they are now going to a P.O. Box before final delivery to the authentication hub.

I just wanted to come back and let you know I was refunded and it looks like the scammer was removed. Thank you for helping me.

Thanks for the update. Though I was "late to the party" so to speak, I was wondering why the item number produced no results.

While I do suspect you're correct about the bag being fake and probably about something sketchy about the seller, the shipping address the seller used and that it's a brand new user, you're really overreacting to a perceived loss.
1. Brand new seller won't get the money for at least 30 days
2. If the item didn't go to the authentication center, it won't have the security tags that come with legitimately authenticated items.
3. If the item didn't get to the authentication center, the seller won't be able to send the bag to you. Sellers do NOT get buyers' addresses!
4. Was there a signature shown on delivery to (what you believe is) the scam address? There MUST be one for seller protection since the total payment was $750+
5. If you don't get it from the authentication center, you file INR and will get a refund.
6. On the off chance that it does get to the authentication center, it won't pass and you will get a refund.
You just need to wait out the process, whatever that ends up being.

OP2 years agoThank you @albertabrightalberta
You always give thoughtful and helpful replies. But… sellers DO have access to buyers information. It’s in the order information area of the orders page. You have to click on something but you can definitely see the buyers information including street, city, state, zip and phone number.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoAnd also, if it does somehow get shipped to me from whoever got it from the post office box….it will show as delivered and because it was listed as new and authenticity guarantee there is no way to open a return request. You can’t open a return request for items listed as new with authenticity guarantee. @albertabrightalberta

·2 years agoFor someone who keeps accusing us, over and over, of not reading your posts, it's you who don't seem to be reading ours.
1) If you receive an item that says it was going to the authenticators but arrives without the card and security tag indicating it has, you most certainly can open a return case. Worst case is that you have to open it through one of the social media customer service channels.
2) If you don't receive the package at all, you can open an item not received claim, since tracking doesn't show delivered to your zip code.
So in either case, you're covered.
wastingtime101
·2 years agoIf the item was shipped to the wrong location, or mis-delivered to the wrong location then the AG center will not receive it.
Assuming that's what happened, you can file a non-receipt claim after the estimated delivery date window passes.

OP2 years agoNobody is understanding what I’m saying. In my purchase history it shows it’s delivered to the authentication center because it was delivered, but it wasn’t delivered to the authentication center. It was delivered to a post office box. It’s not at the authentication center. It’s not going to the authentication center, it’s never going to get to the authentication center, but it is showing delivered to authentication center because it automatically shows that once an item is delivered to its 1st destination with authenticity guarantee.
wastingtime101
·2 years agoI understand perfectly. I stand behind my response.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoBut if a scammer is intelligent and confident enough in their scam to ship it to a post office box near the authentication center then how do I know it’s not an inside job and it’s gonna show authenticated and then shipped to me??? Also, it was listed as new so it’s not returnable meaning no way to open up a return request request.

·2 years agoFun fact - the Mensa entrance exam isn’t very difficult. They play it up as only a small percentage can pass it, but that’s just for ego gratification.

·2 years agoI just joined to try to meet men. I didn't take a test, I got in based on standardized IQ tests I had already taken.
When did you take the test and pass?
Unavailable member
·2 years agoTook the practice test long ago for fun. And I could have used ACT, LSAT results. Never wanted to join - was never impressed by those that that so freely told anyone and everyone their Mensa affiliation. Seemed like more of a club to join hoping that people would be impressed.

·2 years agoIf the purse goes to the authenticator it will come to you with a card and security tag. If it's missing those you can open a not as described case. But until you get the purse there's nothing you can do.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoDid you READ my post? It’s not coming to me. The seller shipped it to a P.O. Box in New Jersey to make it look like it was shipped to the authentication center!!!
Unavailable member
·2 years agoNo, it isn't going to you yet, because the handbag is going to the authenticator in New Jersey first to be authenticated. Once the authentication process is complete they will ship to you.
The Authenticators obviously use a PO Box.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoPlease read my post again! It’s not going to the authentication center. The scam seller shipped to a post office box to make it look like it was “delivered†to the authentication centerIt wasn’t shipped to the authentication center!!!! It was shipped to a post office box in a different city!
wastingtime101
·2 years agoIt does not matter if it shows delivered to the AG center, delivered to Antarctica, or lost in transit.
As long as the package is not forwarded to you by the AG center, the process is to file a non-receipt claim after the estimated delivery window passes.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoIf the scammer has a post office box located near the city that the authentication center is in then it’s possibly an inside job and it’s gonna show authenticated and shipped to me???

·2 years agouh.....no?
how is that even possible? does not the authentication process include communication with ebay? (to pass or fail?)
wastingtime101
·2 years agoI think you're making some big leaps there on the "what ifs". While the situation does look odd, as @albertabrightalberta outlined, there are numerous steps and procedures in the AG process so it's unlikely you'd end up in a sticky situation.
Should something "off" happen, come back here and we'll help. But take it one step at a time and don't stress about the what ifs.
Remember, eBay CS can review tracking and other internal info to see what happened with the bag and initial delivery.

·2 years agoI don't need to reread anything.
You don't know if the authenticators are using a PO box or not but....
Like @wastingtime101 said....
If you don't receive the item you ordered by the last estimated date of delivery you can file and Item Not received claim. Until that time has passed you need to wait.
justagirl12
OP2 years agoI can tell you with 10000% certainty the authenticator DOES NOT USE A PO BOX!!!!!!!
