Authenticity guarantee on shoes
If you buy trainers on eBay with an Authenticity guarantee, it turns out that you only have 30 days to check out if the Authenticity guarantee is correct.
I bought some Nike trainers for my son (Chunky Dunkies) which were not cheap.
We went to a local shop today as he wanted to swap them (for another pair to sit on his shelf…) only to find out they were fakes.
These shoes passed the eBay inspection and we were told today, that unless we make a claim before 30 elapsed days, we can not have our money back or even part of it.
I do wonder what the Authenticity guarantee is worth, as if I just ordered the shoes and had them checked out, I would still be able to return them, questionable authenticity guarantee or not.
IF YOU BUY EBAY AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE TRAINERS, GET THEM CHECKED WITHIN 30 DAYS, OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT BE THE HOLDER OF A PAIR OF FAKES WITH NO RECOURSE.
And of course in my case, the seller has vanished after selling a number of pairs of shoes.

·3 years agoeBay bought Sneaker Con (note the name) so authentic or not, eBay needs to make money on its investment.
Fortunately, both PayPal and your card issuer do not live in eBay fantasyland, so
-- either file a dispute here with PayPal (you'll pay for return shipping)
-- or file a chargeback with your card issuer (eBay might be told to foot [sic] return shipping)
to get your full refund @keester1970 including original shipping and sales tax.

Unfortunately in our case, it’s more than a year, as we trusted the Authenticity guarantee and had no idea that it might not be right.
Great idea though. Thank you.
I just wanted to ‘get this fact’ out there, so that others don’t make the same mistake as we did.
Always have your Authenticity guarantee checked and don’t trust eBay’s!
