Authenticity Guarantee - NOT AS IT SHOULD BE!
From a "seasoned" buyer and seller. The authenticity guarantee is just not beneficial at all! Since eBay started this, they have lost/stolen, after being sent from their "so-called" authenticator, a rare $10,000 Rolex, which I believe was set up to be stolen, and have unnecessarily delayed multiple items I've ordered, which when they were finally received, appeared to have just been "thrown" in a box with no padding or protection, and on several occasions were received as if they had not been inspected at all - because after all the authentication"hoopla" they had to refund my purchase! This program should be "done away with". It is not worth the delay or the money eBay is charging extra for, AT ALL! Hell, aren't things already overpriced these days as it is? I would rather deal with it the old way. The new way is just not worth it in any way whatsoever!

Some of the delays could be due to the volume of items being sent in for authentication at various times. However, I'm sure others have the same complaints about the items not being repacked well for forwarding. Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to reach eBay about that through regular channels.
My advice to you if it happens again would be to photograph the package you receive as soon as you open it. You might even want to take a screen shot of the tracking just to prove the delivery date as well. With those things contact ebay through their Facebook or Twitter social media pages. (Links below) Those sites are manned by actual ebay employees not 3rd party call/chat center employees, and they could forward the complaint to the appropriate team. Add the ebay item number and sign any message with your real and ebay username.
