AUCTION irregularities
It has seemingly at in recent times that SOME sellers have inducted a NEW PRACTICE..in that the items they present for AUCTION ..WITH NO RESERVE ...apparently when the desired amount is not achieved and you "WIN" they present you with a statement of the following:
ITEM IS LOST
ITEM IS BROKEN
or my personal favourite "THE SELLER HAS REMOVED THIS ITEM DUE TO WRONG LISTING OR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
Why is this happening at such a repetitive rate ?

·2 years agoThe practice of sellers bowing out of auctions that have ended has been around for a while. I think there are legitimate reasons to have these options available but they are they are also abused. I'm not sure there's a great solution here. Win some, you lose some. Win some... but the item is no longer available. 😂
It's frustrating as a buyer, I've experienced this myself, but I still don't like the idea of sellers not having recourse for legitimate reasons (known or unknown to us). The only time it really bothers me is if it's after I pay because then you're waiting for a return of your money.

·2 years agoThe last one with the seller has removed the listing would come from ending the listing early so a buyer wouldn't have won in that situation. When they end a listing early still with bidders they pay the final value fee for the highest bid before there was when they cancelled.
If they are cancelling after a listing ends and selecting the item is out of stock because it is broken or missing they get a defect.
Anyone who would be doing other than reasons of actually having the item missing or broken would be seriously hurting themselves for whatever their reason is.
