Assistance Needed – Unable to Message Seller
Hi all,
I’m trying to reply to a seller, but I’m unable to send the message. It says I’ve reached the maximum number of messages allowed.
Can you please assist?

·7 months agoIf the counteroffer is "you are NOT accepting"; just do NOT proceed.
No point in doing anything any further.
No point in 'commenting' as typical sellers don't want to hear it.
Ebay won't help and doesn't want to hear it either if you could talk to them.
This site has over two BILLION listings with MILLIONS of buyers/sellers and transactions happening every day. Therefore, this site is automated.

OP7 months agoGot it — I’m starting to understand that with eBay, when it comes to buying, it’s basically take it or leave it with no option to add comments or negotiate.
I really appreciate all of you. When you’re new to a system or online marketplace, there are always a lot of questions, and I’m grateful you’re taking the time to help!

EBay has no phone number. If you called a number you found on the internet it connected to scammers. You can can go through the Help & Contact link below to either chat with eBay or get a call back. But I'm not sure if they'll be able to do more than tell you to contact the seller tomorrow.
I would add, however, that there's no guarantee the seller will see your comments, and comments will never change the terms of the counteroffer. So if the counteroffer is acceptable your best course of action is to just accept it.

You'll have to wait until tomorrow.

·7 months agoThis is how I understand it, too, @pe-39290. Are you actually needing to respond? Can you accept the seller's counter?

OP7 months agoHi All,
Is there a way to speak to a live agent at eBay? Every time I call, the system tells me to call during business hours—even though I am calling during business hours. It’s been very frustrating.
I’m new to eBay, not selling—just trying to buy—and I’m hoping someone here has been able to reach a real person before. 🙈
Thank you again for any help!

·7 months agoHow many messages have you sent?
What are you messaging the seller about?
Please keep in mind that, when you post here, you're not addressing eBay or its employees. While we may be able to offer suggestions for resolution, we cannot actually take any actions that will resolve the problem.

OP7 months agoThank you for replying. I’m aware this is a forum, and I appreciate any input.
I’ve sent the seller a couple of messages regarding my interest in purchasing an item. I made an offer, and the seller replied with a counteroffer. However, when I try to respond, I get a notification saying I’ve reached the maximum number of messages allowed.
Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?
