Anybody know how to officially lodge a complaint about the Captchas that eBay might actually track?
I know there have been lots of other complaints already but I'd like to be directed to somewhere we could complain en masse (I requested a CS callback but didn't receive one).
I think this has to be an easily solvable coding problem if they'd just address it, but the annoyance is so ever-present I don't bother to shop now unless I have boatloads of time.
The captchas come up every single time I look at ONE piece of seller feedback and I am a shopper who reads multiple feedbacks for every item I buy. You want to see the next feedback, solve another captcha!
Do they want us to stop reading feedback? Because I'll just stop shopping here. I've already basically quit Amazon, now that Amazon reviews are useless.
There is no legitimate security reason to impose captchas on logged-in, frequent eBay shoppers using non-new devices on their home network. Are they getting bitcoin revenue or each captcha we solve or some other incentive?
eBay is completely idiotic to implement this system at the exact moment when people are leaving Amazon Prime in droves.

·2 years agoOnce AI gets to the point where is can answer Captchas for us they will change it.
That and a class action lawsuit over millions of people now convinced they are robots and the expensive treatment to cure them.

·2 years agoI've been seeing the captcha screen every time I login too. It is EXTREMELY annoying and it's only been recently. Nothing in my browser settings have changed so whatever has happened is completely server side on Ebay. Ebay IT needs to find a better way to ward off automated bots and whatnot. Making logins a hassle for the end user is NOT the correct solution..

·2 years agoeBay is unlikely to change its security procedures just because you say you are having problems.
You may be better off trying a few different things to get around the problem.
Try using a different browser or a private or incognito browser window to rule out a browser issue. If you are not using the latest version of a popular browser, try that. Preferably with default settings and no add-ons, in case the problem is with a script blocker or something blocking third-party cookies.

·2 years agoI never receive captchas on eBay, and that's accessing on multiple platforms and browsers. I agree that this is most likely an issue on your end. Using a VPN can also trigger them.

If you are seeing an excessive amount of captchas, it is probably because you are blocking cookies and eBay can't register that you are the same person being captcha'ed multiple times.
So that is on you to change your parameters so that eBay can recognize you when you come to eBay.
