anti-watch list
It would be very useful to flag items as items that you no longer want to see in search results. These items could be added to an anti-watch list. Items could be viewed again if a user removes them from the anti-watch list.
This would save me a huge amount of time wasted in looking at items that I have already seen before and have no interest in.

·1 year agoYou can exclude a limited number of items by keyword, item number, or seller username, but this becomes unworkable very quickly if you have more than a handful of exclusions.
One problem with an anti-watch list is that it tends to grow continuously without any process to remove old entries that are not listed any longer and thus no longer need to be excluded. The larger the list, the more resources used and the slower the search gets, until eventually the search breaks when the search URL gets too long to evaluate properly.
You may be better off narrowing your search to newly listed items and avoiding all items that you have previously viewed in past searches, assuming you are performing the same search over and over on a set schedule. Or else set up a saved search or a third-party automated search that only alerts you when new items that qualify are listed.

·1 year agoNot a bad idea. The problem with that is Ebay wants you to see them.
If it's something specific or from a certain manufacturer what I do is advanced search (just to the right of the search button), type in the item and scroll all the way to the bottom and where it says "Sort By", I click "Newly Listed" then click search below it.
That way I only see the ones recently listed and don't have to see ones I've already looked at.
