Amazon sellers on eBay (non-disclosed)?
Summary: ironskulls expressed frustration about purchasing products from eBay sellers, only to have them shipped directly from Amazon, resulting in paying nearly double the cost. They questioned why these sellers are not identified as Amazon resellers and suggested this practice could be seen as deceptive. roccotacodad54 advised using a Google search to compare prices, while tobaccocardyahoo explained that some sellers use Amazon to dropship items, resulting in overpayment by buyers. They suggested reconsidering purchases from such sources, as it may not achieve the desired goal of avoiding large marketplaces.
I have had this on occasion in the past, but had it twice just this week; I had two products show up direct from Amazon that I ordered from sellers on eBay. Problem is I try and order from eBay as to not give the "big box" all the sales but ended up paying almost twice the Amazon cost if I had just ordered direct. This certainly defeats the purpose.
Why are sellers that are Amazon resellers (or whatever their gig is) not noted as such, so a buyer can stare and compare with Amazon and not be over charged. I get the buyer should always cross ref pricing, but this seems deceiving as a buyer. As also being a seller, I find it immoral not to disclose.

It may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.

·1 week agoMost of those shipments are on purchases from sellers, often international, who are buying those items from an Amazon seller and having them dropshipped to you.
Although there are Amazon sellers who use Amazon Multichannel Fulfillment to ship to their Ebay buyers, they are relatively few, and have Amazon ship in plain packaging without the "smile"
Your overpayment is their profit and their Ebay fees. You should rethink buying the type of product you are buying when this happens on any site which is requiring you to pay a price premium. It is likely that Amazon is still getting your money and their profit. You are not meeting your goal by buying from some Ebay seller based in Sri Lanka, or Pakistan or Turkey who claims to be in the US.

That is why on common items that aren't one-off or hard to find I do a Google search for that item and go from there.
I'm not against buying from Amazon just not paying someone else to order it for me...............................
