Amazon drop shippers
Ok I'm just going to put this out there. Ebay has LOST SO MANY sales to me off shops simply because after I look through feedback I can spot an AMAZON drop shipper easy now. And there are a TON OF THEM.
More than a few times I had ebay on the phone and would ask them if this is allowed. And in every case, NO IT IS AGAINST THE TOS. Well good luck getting ebay to ENFORCE their own very well hidden obscure rule.
MAYBE if they spelled it out more clearly, "Sellers drop shipping amazon goods will be removed." Then actually DO THAT. Only then would this stop. But ebay does not seem to really care as long as THEY are making their cut. So greed bit them too. Very sad.
I just found a seller, after searching for an item I had bought off ebay before, and in BOTH the neg and neutral feedback I see a remark about not ordering from amazon. I reported that seller, sent ebay TWO screenshots of the feedback I found, and I just got back an email that THEY did not see anything wrong.
ARE THEY BLIND???????????????????????
Even if searching for the word AMAZON in feedback doesn't come up (and I already know for a fact I have left negs for amazon drop shippers and later checked only to see MY feedback has been removed.)
So to shoppers, even if you don't spot the word amazon anywhere in feedback, probably got deleted, look at how many items got bad feedback because of late, or just lost shipments. (I swear, I get deliveries all the time that belong to BOTH my neighbor to the north and south. From amazon. I finally put a sign on my front door AMAZON YOU ARE AT THE WRONG HOUSE. My address is xxxxxxx LOOK at your package and try again.) THAT finally worked. They must hire the DUMBEST people as delivery drivers.
So if you see a bunch of bad reviews for lousy delivery service, take the hint, probably amazon doing the delivering and the seller HERE never even touches your item. THEN RUN AWAY. If you really don't mind amazon showing up GO LOOK FOR YOUR ITEM ON AMAZON and it will probably be cheaper.
I won't. I hate that anti American company and want nothing to do with it.
So for me? ANY AND ALL ITEMS I may order here that come from an amazon delivery person OR has amazon paperwork inside the package, and I did not see the word amazon in any of their feedback, IT WILL BE RETURNED FOR A FULL REFUND AND COMPLAINT WILL BE FILED WITH EBAY. (that usually does NOTHING)
So... that last product I was searching for? FOUND IT on another site. As I have for NUMEROUS products I once bought here all the time. No more.
I hope someone at Ebay bothers to look at this. OR maybe some shoppers learn how to look through feedback.
Have a great day everyone.
Cheers.

So, you are going to waste more energy pleading with eBay when you know it usually does nothing? Is that what you're doing here too?

OP8 months agoAside from Amazon sellers here guess what I discovered just last night? CAFEPRESS sells here too!!!!!!
They actually have a shop.
Ok, I once sold on that site myself. Was just starting to do ok when the greedy folks running that site decided to mess with mark ups. ALL DESIGNS no matter how detailed got the same mark up. I had some plain text designs and fine. But I had quite a few that took hours of photoshop work to pull off and I closed up my shop and moved to a better site. (Until they also got greedy, I gave up on it.) You should see how many sellers put up the bird on t-shirt with assorted cuss words pointed at them. It wasn't fair. Now there is a shop here CALLED CAFEPRESS? So mark up on top of mark up. WHO would buy from that? And I was simply looking for a fancy new mouse pad but once I hit cafepress listings it was page after page.... Again I gave up and left. I'll get a plain one at a store somewhere. Ebay really has turned into the back door outlet for a lot of places.
TO EBAY (I know you all have mods watching this) PLEASE give shoppers some filters here? I WOULD BLOCK ALL LISTINGS that have ANYWHERE including in feedback the word amazon. I don't care if you put up with this just to make your profit, but let ME BLOCK sellers doing that, I might stick around longer. AND STOP REMOVING NEG FEEDBACK WHEN SOMEONE SAYS I DID NOT SHOP AMAZON. At least this would be a fix for those of us who do NOT want to spend money with that particular company.

You are mistaken, the boards are monitored for content by Khoros. No 'mod' will see your post.

·8 months agoThe problem is that some sellers are willing to violate eBay and Amazon policy to engage in retail arbitrage drop-shipping, and such sellers will go to great lengths to hide what they are doing from eBay, Amazon and their buyers.
So even if eBay were to identify all legitimate multichannel fulfillment Amazon sellers that are following policy and also allow buyers to filter them out of search results, that would not weed out any sneaky retail arbitrage drop-shippers. Buyers that want to avoid those would still have to do all the things they are doing now to identify drop-shippers in general in order to avoid retail drop-shippers in particular.
It may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.

·8 months agoDon't be fooled by anyone trying to justify drop shipments from Amazon by pointing to sellers who use Amazon to fulfill orders with their own merchandise which is in Amazon's warehouse.
Sellers can only ship their own merchandise from Amazon's fulfillment centers using a program called MCF. Shipments using MCF do not ship in Amazon's packaging. They ship in plain packaging.
No seller can order their own merchandise from Amazon.
Expect to pay a premium price if the Amazon seller is using MCF. The fees are higher than the standard FBA fee and the seller will also be paying the Ebay fees.

OP8 months agoAccording to ebay.... drop shipping FROM YOUR OWN warehouse is fine. So say you make widgets, you have a big company with warehouses across the country, something ships from one that's fine.
But for someone sitting in some other country (usual not always) with an Amazon prime account so shipping is free, then lists AMAZON goods at a mark up that is a CHEAT. I WILL NOT SPEND MONEY WITH CHEATERS.
And again this has costed Ebay MY BUSINESS time and time again.
BTW, not to go too far off topic but this is not the only cheat here.
I USE to buy shoes here all the time. I shop first US only, then price low to high. Thinking I hit a real deal when I found a usually 15.00 pair for .99 cents, I look. Only to find the actual shoes ( drop down list to pick from) are all WAY OVER priced. The .99 cents was for an empty box. I kid you not, this has happened more than a few times now.
Ebay could fix this SO easy. one item, maybe you can pick size or colors, but ONE ITEM ONE PRICE. Would put an end to that completely.
Another COMMON issue, I WANT TO SHOP USA ONLY. And that means I EXPECT THE SELLER TO ACTUALLY BE IN THE USA. So more time wasted, click us only but I better check the about this shop and USUALLY it's NOT in America at all.
These have all happened over and over until finally I looked at a local flea market in summer, and viola. My new shoe source right there. I'd never even have looked if not for all the ebay cheats. Many other products I would just come here and find, I no longer even try.
THIS CAN ALL BE FIXED on EBAYS END. And this is my real hope with this post. Frankly I think I just waste my time here, ebay doesn't care.

·8 months agoeBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers offers good protection if/when an item received is not as described.
So, have to ask, when you received those shoes, did you not open an item not as described case?
And if "this has happened more than a few times since", may I respectfully suggest that you need to vet your sellers more carefully.
Glad to learn that you've found the shoes you want locally. However, you evidently believe that eBay can eliminate scammers completely. Do you have a suggestion as to how this can be done?

·8 months agoThis rant is all for nothing.
Many Amazon sellers house their products with Amazon for them to pick/pack/ship and it is NOT EBAY ILLEGAL to do that just like it is NOT Ebay ILLEGAL to 'drop ship' if a seller has a contract with a whole-seller.
It is ONLY an issue when committing arbitrage (buying after a sale) or an issue (for Amazon) when AZ Members (non-business, not housing items for sale) and use their 'free shipping'.

< I hope someone at Ebay bothers to look at this >
They probably won't. This is a member-to-member forum. But I did, I read the whole thing. Here's a recent experience of my own. About a week ago, I ordered a cheap thermometer from an eBay listing. My thermometer was delivered yesterday by an Amazon truck. You know what? I don't care. I don't understand the intense animosity some people have for Amazon, but I don't share it. If there's some good reason that I should despise Amazon in general, or Mr Bezos in particular, I would appreciate being enlightened.

I find Amazon to be unethical. Try checking out the news. They just paid $40,000,000 for a movie..which I wouldn’t stream for free.
Now if Mr Bezos were as generous as his x wife who donates her money to date $26,000,000,000
https://yieldgiving.com I think many of us would feel differently.

< I find Amazon to be unethical . . . They just paid $40,000,000 for a movie >
When did it become unethical for someone to buy a movie? I've bought a few myself. The twenty bucks or so that I pay for a disk, is likely a similar proportion of my entire worth as 40M is to Jeff Bezos. Not that it's any of my business what he does with his money.

You might want to check this list. if you can ethically feel they make our world better..then so be it. Buy from drop shippers.
When some people have that much money

If that includes feeling entitled to decide how other people should spend their own money, you can count me out.

·8 months agoWell said, @msha3839 . Also, the American multi-billionaires pay more in taxes in one year than I will earn in my entire lifetime. I'm not sure I think giving so much to the government is a good thing, but I'll bet our social conscience friend does, as long as it's somebody else's money.

·8 months agoSad to say that many Ebay buyers have no clue what they are buying and what it should cost.
Most of the buyers who buy from sellers who use Amazon listings to drop ship fall in that category.
Buyers who know what they are doing know which sites to buy from that have brand new product with manufacturers' warranties at the best prices.
Many buyers who choose to shop on Ebay do so for political, social or ideological reasons and do not realize how much money it is costing them, and how unlikely their reasons will be indulged in spite of this cost.
If one needs a used, out of production, or cut priced liquidation product, Ebay is a great place to buy. For new products, I find Ebay to be uncompetitive much of the time.
I do not love Ebay or Amazon or many of the other large ecommerce sites, but I know when they are the most appropriate source.
No amount of Ebay enforcement is going to protect Ebay buyers before they order an item. The cost would be too high for Ebay to continue to exist.

·8 months agoIt is a real pet peeve of mine. frankly people have to be pretty clueless to not know that they are buying from a drop shipper.
‘’It has a detrimental effect on we legitimate sellers with stuff stacked up in a spare room in our house. I get it, and eBay does nothing about it……it is all about $$$$
