Am I stupid?
My wife wanted a Dawoo 5 in 1 cooker I looked on Ebay and saw that they retail from £199. Then I saw one for £184 fifteen pounds cheaper it said only one remaining I am 70 years old and thought it was a good price so I bought it. When it arrived my wife and I were shocked ,the box looked like it had been repacked when we took it out the it was badly scratched the door was out of alignment the trays we scraped like someone has used wire wool and no instructions. I filed a return with eBay stating all the faults including photos then I got a reply from the seller saying he had mentioned the faults in the description and once that you clicked buy you accepted all the faults but I honestly hadn't seen what he was saying and I thought I was buying a new cooker I feel terrible that I have been stupid to get ripped off and ended up with something that is worthless

·1 year agoIf I'm looking at the correct listing @Anonymous , sold on April 2nd, the seller listed it as "New (other)" condition and said this in the description:
New unused. Comes with accessories.
No instruction booklet, but can be downloaded online.
Tatty box.
There were numerous photos of the beaten up and re-taped product box.
That said, you're describing, "the it was badly scratched the door was out of alignment the trays we scraped like someone has used wire wool," which the seller did not disclose in the listing. They described it as new and unused, only issues were the ragged box and lack of instructions. This was the seller's error, not your error.
When you filed the return with eBay, what reason did you choose? I'm not sure if the reasons on the UK site are worded the same as the US site (you're currently on the US forum, not the UK forum), but if you chose a reason that said something like "item doesn't match description or photos," the seller is responsible for providing a prepaid label.

·1 year agoThank you so much for telling me this you have made me feel so much better I am seventy and not used to using Ebay when I put the return with eBay I put damaged Thank you again I didn't know I was on a us site I just wanted to tell someone how I felt which was scammed

·1 year agoIt doesn't matter what was in the listing. Once a buyer opens a return for not as described the seller is required to provide you with a return label or a refund within 3 days. If they don't then go back to the case after 3 days and ask eBay for help.
