Adding Allstate Protection Plan After Purchase
Hello, I purchased and received my item. I forgot to add the Protection Plan during the checkout process. From what I've read:
https://www.ebay.com/cdp/help/protection-plan/allstate
"How do I purchase an Allstate Protection Plan?
If the item you are purchasing qualifies for an Allstate Protection Plan, you have the option to purchase it directly from the item description page prior to checkout. After checkout, you can still purchase it from the payment confirmation page or through your post-purchase reminder email."
I don't see an option to purchase on my payment confirmation page or any email regarding the Allstate Protection Plan.
When calling customer support. They told me that I only have 30 day of warranty and they do not have an option for me to buy Protection Plan.
Anyone have an insight into this?

·7 months agoI am in the same boat. It clearly stated that you could buy it post purchase. I didn’t actually forget. I wanted a two-year policy and at check out only one year was offered and I thought I’d buy it in the post purchase email. I’ll purchase the two year policy. I never got that email . And eBay tells me there’s no possible way to do it. So eBay is definitely doing something fishy with this and I advise everyone to buy the policy right away even if it’s for less years than you would want. eBay has zero desire to help and told me to just return the item. Which is completely unfair to the seller because it’s not the Sellers’s fault . eBay has definitely missed the mark on this and has no desire for customer satisfaction. I’ve been buying and selling on eBay for 28 years and never had a problem like this.

There is no direct phone number to ebay's customer support. If you looked one up online those numbers do not take you to anyone connected with ebay, and they are often Phishing for your information.
Even if you went to the bottom of an ebay page looked under the Help & Contact header, and used the contact us button to get a call back from ebay, those reps work for hired 3rd party Call/Chat center. The reps try to answer questions by looking up related answers i the playbook ebay provides them, which does not cover all issues. It would not cover buying 3rd party insurance policies, since that is separate from ebay. The only protection ebay provides is their 30 day money back guarantee (MBG) . There is a link to the policy on most listing pages. It can be found under the accepted payment type icons, under the Shop with confidence header click on the Learn more button.

·8 months agoYou can go to their web site and purchase it. https://www.squaretrade.com/service/
However many have had problems getting them to pay any claims.
