OP1 week agoSorry for the confusion.
This post was a PSA reminder that eBay staff IS a part of the "Community".

·1 week agoA PSA reminder from someone who's been on the forums for a nanosecond. Many of us have been here for 10-15 years or more. We know how eBay staff actually interfaces with the forums, which is very seldom and only when tagged about an overarching issue. When we tell someone that this is not the place to escalate an issue to eBay it's because it's true. And "PSAs" won't change that.

·1 week ago@1950rek, The ebay employees that do occasionally participate in topic discussions are usually tagged by members to do so, and mostly when policy points need clarification. Many of us non ebay employees will give you better answers than you would get from employees when you have issues. We sometimes post work arounds that they dare not suggest.

·1 week agoParticipation usually consists of comment removal…

·1 week agoComment removal is done mostly by moderators whom are not eBay employees and have proven their knowledge of eBay policies when it goes against those policies and what is allowed on the community platform.

·1 week agoThey are not eBay employees per say,but authorized to remove comments on behalf of eBay..

·1 week agoWhile that is true, they still are NOT eBay employees even if they remove or change comments on eBays behalf. The community section isn't even run by eBay, it is operated for eBay by and outside company.

·1 week agoJust had a comment that amounted to "saying every seller is a liar because of a singular experience is a poor generalization; consider a larger sample size, chief" removed. Not sure what policy got violated there, but thank goodness that comment is gone 🤷
