A personal mission
I've bought 2 phones in 1 month.
One was fake, the other arrived not working.
2 different sellers.
I left negative feedback for both, as anyone should when this happens.
Not disrespectful, no names, no refund info.... just the facts.
Of course they were never published or even show in my feedback profile. And wouldn't you know it, that happens to many people.
I've read through this message board a bunch, and YOU should be ashamed of yourself. Yes you, ebay employees who exist to clean up the unethical trash left behind by your scamming ways.
You always have excuses why the guy who got screwed is wrong. Your company hides negative feedback for profit.
And you troll this forum to refute any post and make the buyer look like THEY made mistakes.
It's a filthy business you are in, and i hope your conscience gets to you for hiding the truth and working for a company that doesn't make the world better.
You're deceptive ways will catch up to you one day.
My mission is to let everyone know what happens here.
I can't wait for your lying excuses.
Please, let's hear how this is wrong....or a random experience or whatever **bleep** you can come up with to get your paycheck.
Sad bot doing your master's bidding

We're volunteers. To echo Groucho's sentiment, I refuse to work for a company that would have me as an employee.

·1 year agoVolunteering on these boards means we get accused of all things by a good many people, and as others have noted, the occasional thank you. And here you are, @Anonymous , hurling completely unfounded accusations at all of us because people like you get told what they don't want to hear.... that they made a mistake, or didin't handle a transaction properly in order to get a refund. Many of us here have been around long enough to know that we all make mistakes.
I doubt anyone volunteering on these forum pages would tell you they've never had a transaction go sideways, and in turn didin't dot all the i's and cross the t's, resulting in them coming out on the losing end. That's what brought many of us here in the first place.
But you just keep thinking like you do, that we're all getting rich at the expense of the poor buyer because ebay's deck of cards is stacked against them. I can assure we'll all sleep just fine.

If we worked for Ebay, we would tell you that you were absolutely correct and we were escalating your claim and you should expect a refund within 72 hours.
Of course, that refund would never appear.

·1 year agoOh, and yes, that's my total goal in life, to troll this forum to refute any post and make the OP feel like they were the one who made the mistake. And, no, I am not the only one. Many of us enjoy coming here to offer help and being told that we must be eBay employees.

Worse yet, is being called an Ebay employee, better known as 'shill'!!
soh.maryl

As well as the eBay employee insult.

Does or Has eBay given what
constitutes tangible material support to any individual as a reward for replying, posting, mentoring on the community boards ?
gift bag of products , paper certificate of appreciation, etc ?

Thats funny. Tho there is a scam company on the net that claims to be Ebay and offers payment for posting to the boards. After the victim has given them their payment to 'enroll' or whatever. Most of these naive people seem to be in Pakistan, and of course, they never collect a penny. Many years ago, when I first started, about 26 years ago or so, Ebay gave a small credit to regulars on the boards. But the boards were new then, and Ebay was trying to drum up using the boards for help questions.
P.S. I should say too, that yes, back in the good old days, Ebay did sent out small gift bags to some regulars for their participation in helping on the boards.I know I got a couple.
soh.maryl
·1 year agoDon't know about you, but I am still waiting for "tangible rewards".
Periodically someone will return here and thank us for information or a solution to a problem.
Not often, but sometimes. And that's really all we want or need.
Instead, there are lots of times here when an experienced eBayer will make a suggestion or explain where someone went wrong and will be chastised soundly. Happens frequently.

·1 year agoAbout 10 years ago, give or take, I was in the Mentor group and eBay sent us a gift bag. Other than that I've gotten primarily abuse on the boards, interspersed with the exceedingly rare thank you. I can assure you that the eBay tchotchkes didn't come close to paying me for the abuse. None of us would do this were it not for those few and far between thanks.

·1 year agoI don't know anyone who would 2 phones at the same time on eBay.
If you're going to buy 2 phones...why not go to a real phone store and buy one to begin with?
There are phone stores in most cities in the USA.
Most telephone companies offer discounts or pay monthly on phones.
That would be like going to a store and buying 2 cars to 2 TVs at the same time....Why?
soh.maryl
·1 year agoActually, there are people who buy multiples like phones or TVs at the same time.
No cell phone here, but have bought two TVs at the same time.
And buying multiples is not the root of the OP's problem.
bonjourami
·1 year agoI confess, my daughter bought two new cell phones at once...not here, of course. One for herself and one for me.
soh.maryl
·1 year agoThat seemed like kind of an odd comment to me. A relative just recently bought two cell phones (not on eBay) one for a college-bound grandchild and one for himself after he dropped his from a ladder on to the cement driveway. You can count on a phone mistreated in that fashion to be pretty much DOA.

·1 year agoPaycheck ? What paycheck? If you think responders in this forum are paid by eBay you are sadly delusional. I wish I could be paid to post here but alas, I have to sell things to make money to supplement my social security.
bonjourami
·1 year ago"And you troll this forum to refute any post and make the buyer look like THEY made mistakes. "
High drama post, but if you really believe that Ebay would pay for ringers on this board, when they dont give a rats behind about complaints here, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Again, A+for drama.
bonanza125
·1 year agoYour complaint has already been addressed on 8-20. I would encourage helpers to read his past threads. You were already given the reason why you weren't given a refund. You were already given the reason why your feedback has and would be removed. You were already told that nobody who works for Ebay is here just your peers giving advice or answering questions. Yet you continue to ignore advice given. There is absolutely nothing we can do. My recommendation is just to move on then.

·1 year agoPlease let me be the first to inform you that almost NO ONE who posts here is an eBay employee.
Just about every single one of us who responds here is an eBay buyer or seller, sometimes both.
We volunteer our time here to offer help and advice to those who ask for it.
None of us need to come up with ANYTHING to get a paycheck from eBay because, again, NONE OF US ARE EMPLOYEES.
As fellow eBayers (not employees), we're sorry that you had a problem. eBay offers the Money Back Guarantee for buyers when a transaction goes awry. Did you use it?
Don't know what you said in the FB you left, but eBay reserves the right to not publish FB under certain circumstances.
BTW, if it's still within 30 days of your receipt of those items, you still have time to open not as described cases. If it's past that, you may be able to do a chargeback on your credit card.
Just a little honest advice from a NONEMPLOYEE.
