131 Days No Item No Contact from Seller
Paid for a guitar body on December 13, 2023 with an extended shipping time (from Dec to Feb) because items are made to order. Since Dec 22, 2023 the seller has not responded to any of my messages nor, of course have I recieved the item.
The only message I've ever recieved was: "It hasn't been made yet so it hasn't shipped yet. These are made to order as indicated in the listing".
I attempted further contact in February, March and April, a single message each month asking for a status update or refund (in April).
Ebay won't help because it's no longer a "recent purchase" so I can't request ebay's help - my bank won't help because it's been over three months.
Just feel helpless and frustrated!

·2 years agoYou can help out the seller's relative by sending them this information, but I really don't know how they can go about refunding these orders.
Here's a link to the basic Help page about closing an account. At the very bottom of the page is a link about closing a deceased member's account.

OP2 years agoThis is the message I recieved via ebay after sending a letter to the seller via USPS:
"Hello, the seller has passed away. I'm still trying to figure out how to cancel and close orders. Sorry for the inconvenience."

OP2 years agoWhat's also frustrating is that I can't even leave feedback for the seller becuase the item is in limbo.

·2 years agoThe reason you can't leave feedback has nothing to do with the item being in limbo. Feedback on any purchase can only be left for 60 days following the purchase date. So that window closed in February.

OP2 years agoThanks for that, lesson learned for sure!

·2 years agoInstead of contacting the seller in February when it was due to be delivered you should have opened a not received case on eBay. It's too late to do that now.
In the future pay with PayPal where you have 180 days to dispute a payment.

·2 years agoAgain, you don't seem to have answered this question: What was the last estimated delivery date as seen in the listing where you placed the order?

OP2 years agoEst. delivery Wed, Feb 14 - Tue, Feb 20
Return Window Closed on Mar 21.

·2 years agoSadly, as others have stated - you are likely out of luck with ebay as you did not use the correct method to seek information from the seller. You should have opened a case under your purchases, more actions selection for the transaction.
Considering this was a production on demand item - could it not be considered a preorder product - thus if never shipped, meaning never came into stock. There should be some form of wiggle under that premise...might be worth inquiring with the payment source in that regard.

·2 years agoThere was an estimated delivery date in the listing. If that date has passed by a few days, but not yet 30 days, you can open an item not received case.
If, however, it's been more than 30 days since that EDD, then you will have to open a case with Paypal or do a chargeback on your credit card.
After you handle this, do yourself a favor, and read the Money Back Guarantee for buyers. This could have been easily handled if you had been equipped with that knowledge.

OP2 years agoThanks you for the reply, that makes sense.

·2 years ago"my bank won't help because it's been over three months"...actually you are allowed 120 days to file a dispute.
That is stated on the internet...look it up. Dispute it online with your bank.
Item has a "estimated date of delivery"...that is when you file for item not received to eBay. What is stated in the sale?

·2 years agoAccording to the provisions of the Fair Credit Billing Act, credit card issuers are required to give consumers 60 days from the first statement on which the charge appears to dispute charges resulting from non-delivery of goods. Card issuers can allow a longer time but aren't legally required to.

·2 years agoDon't know WHERE you got that from- each bank does what they want (within requirements) and VERY FEW allow 120 days.
