$100 shipping??
I went to buy a $10 item with free shipping, during checkout the shipping jumped to $100!! I backed out of it and reported the seller. Ebay found nothing wrong. Luckily it is not showing up as an unpaid item or anything. I mean, what the heck?!

According to a news report I just moments ago heard, China based sellers have already raised shipping costs on many of the China based sites like Alieexpress, Alibaba, Shein... etc that ship directly from China, some of which normally offer Free Shipping, in advance of the May 2nd tariffs going into effect.
If you used the Report Item button to inform ebay about the change, their now AI based investigations miss a lot of things a human would investigate and see. If there is nothing on the Listing page that is a violation they "find nothing wrong" AI does not open the checkout buttons, to see if a Free Shipping listing has a Shipping cost there.
My advice to you is to check each seller's feedback profile to see if a seller is based in China or Drop Ships from there. There's often mentions of items coming from China in negative and neutral feedback if they do that.

OP1 year agomakes sense, seller had an asian-sounding user ID but said shipped from US.

·1 year agoIt's part of the elimination of the de minimus exemption used by Chinese sellers to avoid import fees. I found this: "Products shipped through the U.S. Postal Service will face a tariff equivalent to 120 percent of the value of the goods, starting May 2, or a fee of $100 per package, the White House said last week. The fee, which will be collected by Customs and Border Protection, increases to $200 in June, the agency said." So expect to see this a whole lot more with Chinese sellers.

OP1 year agoit was supposed to shipped from the US. It no longer shows up in recently viewed items.

You should be able to locate it in the eBay message or in your recently viewed history on eBay.

OP1 year agoIt was a BIN, stated free shipping in the listing. Now the listing says $100 shipping.

Assuming it was a 'buy it now' and not an auction you won...
What does it say right now (since it was not purchased)
