Request for Moderator Review – Indefinite Selling Restriction on Epic_grading
Summary: jar_265932 is seeking assistance from an eBay Community moderator regarding an indefinite selling restriction on their account, Epic_grading. The issue arose from a listing of Pokémon cards that were deemed counterfeit, purchased unwittingly from AliExpress. jar_265932 emphasized their proactive steps, including refunds and cooperation with eBay's documentation requests. They request a review of their case to potentially reconsider the restriction, expressing willingness to comply with eBay's policies and procedures to regain selling privileges.
Hello eBay Community,
I’m reaching out to request assistance from an eBay Community moderator regarding my selling account Epic_grading, registered under the name Jerry OBrian. My account was initially restricted on May 26, 2026, and on June 2, 2026, I received notice that my account would remain indefinitely restricted from selling.
I understand that eBay takes counterfeit items very seriously, and I respect the importance of protecting buyers and maintaining trust in the marketplace. I am not trying to dispute the importance of this policy. I am asking if a moderator can please review my individual circumstances and advise whether there is any remaining process or opportunity available for me to have the selling restriction reconsidered.
The issue began with a listing for a Pokémon TCG Fusion Strike Factory Sealed Lot, item number 137342053554. eBay notified me that the listing was in breach of the Counterfeit policy and that the item had been removed. I understand from the notice that the action was taken after a user report and that eBay determined the item to be in violation of its counterfeit policy.
At the time I purchased these cards, I genuinely believed they were legitimate. I am not knowledgeable about Pokémon trading cards, and I purchased them through AliExpress after my son, who collects Pokémon cards, told me that the cards were available there at a relatively inexpensive price. I did not knowingly purchase counterfeit merchandise or knowingly attempt to mislead buyers.
After buyers contacted me and I became aware of concerns that the cards were counterfeit, I took corrective action. I refunded the affected buyers rather than allowing the situation to continue. I also made sure that the items I had sold were shipped with tracking and that the deliveries could be confirmed. I understand now that sellers must be certain that merchandise is authentic before listing it on eBay, and I take that requirement seriously.
During the review process, eBay placed my payouts on hold and requested documentation showing that I had purchased the items recently listed on eBay. I responded to that request and submitted my purchase receipts from AliExpress, including documentation containing my name and address.
I subsequently received another message from eBay regarding my appeal stating that I needed to provide proof of delivery for the items sold on my account. I understood this requirement and had used eBay tracking for the shipments. I also provided the information requested regarding the deliveries.
Despite my cooperation with these requests and the corrective actions I had already taken, I ultimately received the June 2 notice stating that my account would remain indefinitely restricted from selling. The final notice stated that my account had originally been restricted because it violated eBay policy and that my behavior posed a risk to the eBay community, but it did not provide additional details regarding what specific concerns remained after the documentation and delivery information had been submitted.
I understand that eBay has to take action when counterfeit merchandise is identified, and I accept responsibility for the fact that the affected items were listed on my account. However, I would appreciate the opportunity for the circumstances to be reviewed in their entirety, particularly the fact that I did not knowingly purchase or list counterfeit cards, that I refunded buyers after learning of the issue, that I cooperated with eBay's documentation requests, and that I took steps to confirm delivery of my sold orders.
I am asking if an eBay moderator could please review the history of my account and let me know whether there is any additional information, documentation, corrective action, or formal review process that could be completed to allow my selling privileges to be reconsidered.
I am willing to comply with any reasonable requirements eBay may have and to make sure that any future listings fully comply with eBay's authenticity and marketplace policies. My goal is to understand what remains necessary, if anything, for my account to be considered for reinstatement.
Thank you for taking the time to read my situation. I would sincerely appreciate any guidance or assistance a moderator can provide.
