Jackie, in spite of age and certain health problems, it sure is good to know you are still enjoying life and are always on the go. I'm envious.😉 Hope you had a good day at Bingo....win any prizes? My brother always enjoyed bingo.
Also glad you got to spend TG with your old friend and her kitties. Got to enjoy a home cooked meal; with all the aromas to go with. Also got your kitty fix.
Looking at your dolls. You seemed to like all the gowned up Barbies and they sure are pretty too. I like your simple, but festive and pretty backgrounds & props for your dolls.
December has been a chilly one so far. Got a little dusting of snow last night. Bam Bam is doing well after she was attacked by a hawk November 18. She laid her first egg this past Tuesday and laid another one yesterday. Her comb is so pretty now; bright red.
Hi Jackie & welcome home! Hope you had a wonderful cruise. Sorry you had to deal with a kidney stone and hope it's the last. I've never (knock on wood) had that problem although my cousin has had and still has occasional issues with it. This time stones to large to pass, so will have them 'blasted'. A friend of mine has also had issues. No fun!
Cat, 'Mazzy' has been fighting urinary issues. First cat in my life to ever have UTI and bladder problem. Hopefully now after 4 trips to vet, she will not have chronic problems.
Staying home for TG, just me and hubby. Will make dinner and bake some extra pies for the neighbors.
OK. I think I am going to take a break from posting here. Might slip back in on Hallowee'n just to post photos. I think we are kinda doing our own thing and to be honest, I'm probably not as doll/Barbie crazy as I once was. I pick up what I can afford and often, those are played with, used dolls. My eyes aren't as sharp and I'm not as steady as once was to do the repaints, sewing, etc. And besides, for some reason, I just don't really have the time. Age seems to make time get by a lot faster, and I am busy doing other things.
It was a lot of fun and interesting while it lasted.
Shirls - I totally understand about taking a break. It has been so busy at work lately I haven't had time to do anything else at all. I don't do much with dolls either - I like seeing photos of what is out there (a big shout out and thank you to Queli for posting all the new doll photos!!).
We have all had a blast over the years with our photo stories and doll scenes!!
xxoo Kate
Totally random photos of some of my favorites! 🙂
Time is flying, I could have sworn I posted last weekend - I can’t believe we are more than half-way through October!
Queli - Someone brought the 12 days of Easter Barbie to a doll meeting last year - I especially loved the advent-calendar-style box!
What a great haul - love all the minis!!
Shirls - Ages ago when I was helping an elderly friend with her flower beds, I carefully planted 26 crocus bulbs. The next morning when I went to her house, a little critter (possibly a chipmunk) had dug up every single bulb, taken a bite out of each one, and then tossed it aside! We ended up planting some bulbs (can’t remember what) that weren’t attractive to chipmunks and all was well.
Jackie - I have said it before, but I do like that wooden reusable advent calendar- so cool! I also like all the Halloween play line Barbies - they have great outfits!
Xoxo Kate
It wouldn't be Halloween without a game of Green Ghost! 🙂
And, of course, Stinky just had to get the biggest pumpkin he could find!!
HooRay! Nice to see some life come back to our dolly thread! Thought I would check my emails, but can't get logged in for some reason. Will have to try later.
JACKIE ~ Welcome back! 😋 Good to see you too! Oh yes, I remember the story about Marie. I would think about that when I was doing photos outdoors. If you want to get on the level of what the dolls are doing, you have to lay on the ground. I have replanted the daffodil bulbs in the garden in a different location. Not sure if they will grow or not; will have to wait and see. Also transferred a few Iris tubers into the plot. I do see some of the Spiderwort trying to come back. They have roots like nobody's business, but for the most part, the plot is tabula rasa 😂. Bam Bam likes going in there now to make her dust bath places.
Enjoy your Halloween photos! I have always liked the playline halloween dolls too. Will see a number of them at the flea markets this time of year.
Holy cow! Can't keep you down haha! Now it's a cruise and coming very soon! You go on and enjoy life and have fun with your travels and friends and family.
KATE ~ Good to see you too! I know the feeling about how fast the time gets by..it sure gets away from me too. I like seeing your halloween photos too with the game and Stinky having the biggest and best pumpkin.
Even a war horse has to take time out for some fun on Halloween!
I picked up this Great Eras Medieval Lady doll at the flea market. Couldn't pass the price. Wasn't crazy about the original belt on the dress or how the head piece fit. So, made her a new belt and loosened the 'hat'. When you begin to take things apart, that is when you find out how some of the Barbie clothing has been 'put together'. 😑
That closet shelf has a bit of everything on it....accessories, etc. and mixed decades & genres of dolls....getting a bit full up there, ha!
Kate...Yeah, Christopher & Banks does a great job with their Christmas sweaters. I wonder if they know how popular they are with doll collectors?...Thanks for sharing your lovely autumn dolls with us. I always love the fashions...Thanks, I don't know what it is about playline that appeals to me so much, but I took one look at her and she just jumped into the cart!...I agree, that 12 Days of Halloween is fab! I didn't buy it because there were so many other things being released at the same time. Why does that happen to me?! I found the 4 sets of Mini Barbieland dolls at Walmart. I got there as they were stocking the aisles, so lucky! And I got a Disney doll because Barbie had to have the fashion, and 2 new fashion packs and Fashionista 221, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Bitty Pops! I'll post them little by little.
Here's the 12 Days of Spring doll that was released last year.
Here's part of my stash from Walmart. Is it a wonder that I'm as happy as a clam?! I got 22 mini Barbies! 🙂
Shirley...A barren patch of dirt?! Bummer 😞 Ah, well, I'm sure it'll look great next summer...I didn't buy the 12 Day of Halloween Barbie! I can't believe it! There are a lot of things on my To Buy list and, of course, they're all being released this month. I especially want the new Mini Barbieland items. Some are being released this Sunday. I also want some of the new Target MGA Miniverse Christmas capsules. Can't wait to find them!...Well, I think you did a great job with your Halloween Barbie. She looks great!
If anybody's interested, here's a YouTube link to mycraftyside opening the Christmas capsules.
Queli - The new sweaters are just great! I like the gnomes and the little ice skating cat.The new pink fairy Barbie is pretty - I like the orange/pink hair! The 12-days of Halloween Barbie is fabulous! I like that Mattel is doing these mini-advent style sets (the did an Easter one, right?). I like the new purple Barbie-logo dress, too.
Shirls - Wow - so many tick bites - yikes!! Glad they are on the mend. Sorry you had to uproot an entire section of the garden. I guess now you can start fresh - fingers crossed the moles go somewhere else. Glad you got some rain even if it was all at once. That is how it has been raining here, too. Love your new Halloween creation!!
KATE ~ Looking at the empty garden today and already have a couple of ideas in mind for when spring comes. Was able to save a group of Daffodil bulbs, but don't know what happened to the tulip, hyacinth, and crocus bulbs. Maybe I'll just plant a huge Zinnia patch; who knows. Still haven't seen anything of that mole, so I'm wondering if he didn't drown? Or he left town because it just wasn't the place to be anymore.
Nice fall and Halloween photos. FQ looks great as always in her dress and love those earrings!!
Shirley...No worries. I really like the Wiz and think Mattel did a great with it...Love my little fairy. I think she's darling...I always like the C&B sweaters. I think they're dandy too...Wow, sounds like a LOT of work but you seem up to the task. Your garden looks very nice.
12 Days of Halloween Barbie is being released Thurs Oct 2 at 9am Pt, $160. The first 24 hours for members only and those that are left over go to the general public. Absolutely love her!
Shirley...thank you, so glad you liked The Wiz. I think he's wonderful. We'll have to wait to see how Jeff Goldblum portrays him when the movie is released in November. Good days are great, enjoy!...What?! You got Hagrid at a flea market?! Wow! That was a stroke of good luck 🙂
Kate...Yeah, that doll show was super!...Love your little cuties. I especially like the fashions you made.
Christopher & Banks just released their Christmas sweater ornaments. I haven't bought them yet, but I will.
QUELI ~ Don't know beans about the movie and had no idea Jeff Goldblum would be the wizard. No wonder the doll resembles him! The Barbie fairy doll is a cutie! 'Bout time for some new fairies. Those sweaters are dandy!
KATE ~ Glad the poison ivy is coming to an end AND the tick bites! Had tons of those on my feet since they crawled down into my socks. As they crawl along, they must bite the whole distance...had over 40 bites on one foot and 30 some on the other.....not to mention the ticks that made their way up my legs.
Love the Easter photo and the halloween fashion duo you made!
I have been clearing out more flower beds, raking etc. and being extra careful keeping my eyes open for poison ivy and oak since it does come up in my flowers. Had to destroy one of my bigger flower beds that was filled with Iris, SpiderWort, Blackeyed Susans, and spring bulbs such as tulips, hyacinth, crocus, daffodil. There was vinca vine growing under all that....it had become a mass of roots. Moles invaded that flower-bed and were tunneling under that root mass so was not aware right away of the mole problem....was wondering why stuff was dying out...just thought it was the heat and drought. Only way to get to the moles was to completely remove EVERYTHiNG! It was hours of labor digging under that layer of roots, pulling up large sections...hard to describe.....but under all that I found some very nice soil and THEN was able to see all the new tunnels dug by the moles and able to set traps. Moles are hard to trap. THEN we finally got some rain....a LOT of rain all at once...near 3 inches...I think the moles either floated away by escape or they drowned because I have not seen them since and that has been 4 days. Sorry I got off on a gardening tangent 😂...Bam Bam the chicken sure had fun while I was dismantling the garden too, haha!
Queli - That doll show looks like a lot of fun - I love seeing other types of dolls - there are so many! The R. John Wright dolls are always so lovely - he really does a wonderful job of creating a doll from a drawing! Love the Oz Wizard - great face and great outfit!
Shirls - I’m so glad your poison ivy rashes are going away - it must have been miserable- glad you found something that helped ease the discomfort. Love the Midge sightings! Joe Blitman said they used the Midge head molds to make PJ when Mattel made the “mod†dolls. What a great Hagrid find!!
Shirley...Thanks for the info on those lovely plants. I really like them...So glad you're feeling much better and that things are improving...Thanks 🙂 I really like all the Holiday Barbies but I tend to always get the redhead...Ooo, look at all those Midges 🙂 They look so sweet. Wedding Ken and Barbie look good too!
I ordered Wicked The Wizard from Walmart. I don't like buying my dolls online because I like to see what I'm getting but lately it seems that the dolls I want are only being sold online 😞 This doll came in a sturdy box, but the packaging was crushed (which I don't understand). The doll was fine but if I had bought it as a gift I would have returned it.
Oooooh QUELI! ~~The Wizard is fabulous!! And the coat! The other dolls will be fighting over it!! The doll, though....I looked at him and instantly but briefly thought a bit of resemblance to a younger Jeff Goldblum!! If you look at him too long though you will miss the resemblance😂 Don't mind me, I'm just feeling good and in a good mood. When I have good days like this I have to make good use of it!!
Waving to KATE & JACKIE hope you are both doing well.
Kate...I agree 100%! I think the new Holiday Barbies are very nice. So no one thought they would sell as well as they have? I'm so glad we proved them wrong 🙂 ...Ooo, look at all the girls going crazy over The Kink of Rock and Roll! Love it!
Does anyone know the name of these plants? I love that the color is so vibrant!
Went to a doll show and they have a cabinet full of Barbies.
I loved this exhibit, especially The Little Prince by R. John Wright, released in 2000.
Friends and I went to lunch and here's our show-and-tell.
QUELI ~ My mom used to grow the Pampas Plume cockscomb in her flower beds. Reds were her favorite though I did see some orange and yellow mixed in. This was in central Nebraska.
Kate...I agree with you. That advent calendar is just fabulous! I know, Christmas just kinda sneaks up on us, doesn't it? I love watching those YouTube videos. Can't wait for this year's editions...That Moomin was one of my favorite advent calendars! The kitty one was so cute.
Jackie...Thank you!
Shirley...So sorry to hear about all your bug bites. What a bummer!...Thanks! Love my calendar...Jinefire looks fab! Love her pet 🙂
I got the redhead Holiday Barbie from Mattel Creations. Last year I bought all five. I hope I can behave myself this year!
Jackie - I’m sorry about your poor sister - glad you will be with her!
That is a Moomin advent calendar- there was a tiny Stinky figure in it - doesn’t quite look like our Stinky but he is still represented.
Shirls - Ow, ow, ow! I hope you are feeling better and less itchy - I thought ticks were mainly around in May/June - I guess not - how frustrating! I had to look twice for Jinafire’s tail - it really does blend into the background!
Queli - Lovely new Holiday Barbie! I like the red hair and the dress this year is really lovely. Mattel does such a great job with that line - I think Joe Blitman said that when they produced the very first one it sold out almost immediately- they weren’t expecting it to be so popular.
Hi girls! The poison ivy is under control and no longer spreading! Not much itching going on either. Only have 2 sites that need a bandaid cover because they still ooze a little. This treatment package that I found at Walmart works pretty well. Some of the topical lotion works pretty good on settling the itch of the tick bites too and tick bites (on me) get very intense. The bites are still ugly looking, but not feeling bad. The bites on my feet (which were numerous) were the most uncomfortable...esp with shoes and socks. Going on my morning walks just about drove me nuts 😂....but, tis all getting better. Thanks.
QUELI ~ Your redhead holiday Barbie is beautiful! I like her gown too...she's nice. But, she looks like Midge to me...even has the freckles like her. Hmmmm🤔 And the flip hairdo too.........hmmmmm.
I don't do as much with dolls like I used to, but, at the same time, never grow tired of them and especially not tired of looking at them!! 😋 Will always enjoy that!
KATE ~ Oh my! Heart throb Elvis has made the scene. And the Stinky duo are with him soaking up the fan adoration 🤣
Jackie...Have a safe trip!...Yes, I'm doing well, thanks for asking!
Shirley...Thanks 🙂 Yep, Barbie was very comfy!...Good to know that you've enjoyed some Stephen King books. Yeah, he has written a whole bunch of books!...Love that photos of you and your mini me!...Anna looks so comfy cozy in her fashion...Jinefire looks wonderful. Enjoy her to the max!...The headgear looks great on your Barbie.
Kate...Isn't that a great flip book?!...Oh my, look at Stinky with all those hats!
Got this advent calendar from Amazon. Couldn't resist 🙂 The mini dolls are 1.5''H.
Queli - The new advent calendar is fabulous and the little dolls are the perfect size for the 1/6th scale dolls! I can't believe it is time for advent calendars to start showing up (I really shouldn't be surprised, though).
Soon it will be time to start watching all those advent calendar openings on YouTube - always a fun time.
Waving to Shirls and Jackie!
xxoo Kate
From years past - a Moomin advent calendar and a little cat postcard advent calendar.
Stinky checking out the Moomin Advent calendar check list.
Hi JACKIE 😊 You like my double-jointed thumb? It's pretty 'bendy!' Darn, sorry to hear your older sis has fallen again. Hope everything checks out OK at the doc and that nothing serious (like stroke or MI) caused the fall. I'm glad you were planning on heading up that way too. Oh the fall colors! Brings back memories of Minnesota. I would see a lot of beautiful colors driving through Missouri on way to Nebraska too. Seeing the Norseman and Viking ship also brings back memories of Minnesota. US Army Ranger Barbie so cute in uniform!
Today I decided to unbox my new MH doll; Jinafire Long. I simply liked her and her colors. Disappointed though......these dolls cost more now and the way the box is made, I was fooled in thinking there was a stand included! 😒 Shoulda read the fine print 😉. Here she is still in the box.
Foolin' around in the doll room produces interesting results. Not sure why the 'headgear' for Thailand Barbie was layin' around. No time to put it away so plopped in on someone's head. Had either Stinky known about this, they would have had a discussion on who gets to wear it. (My SIL painted the seashell. )
Jackie - I’m sorry your poor sister fell! I hope she is on the mend and feeling better. I haven’t seen Hilda’s new collection - I’ll have to go check it out!
Shirls - Those little Trek furries are Tribbles! I love seeing all your fall photos - we aren’t quite there yet - still a little too warm but it is getting cooler in the mornings. I have double jointed thumbs, too! 🙂
Queli - How cool is that Stephen King flip book - what a great idea! I haven’t read any of his books either. Tom H is always fun to see in a movie.
Xoxo Kate
Stinky showing off some of his hats. After wearing that Santa hat all month, someone has “hat hairâ€! Lol!
Oh! All these tick bites and poison ivy are driving me straight up the wall. I am so allergic to both...immune system goes into overdrive. Went hiking last Saturday. Did not realize there would be baby ticks by the thousands this time of year. I have around 50 bites just on my feet where they crawled under my socks and down onto my feet. Some went upward as well and hung out under my shorts so thighs are full of bites too. Poison Ivy is on all points between the tops of my socks to where the shorts begin (just above the knee). Applying band-aids to the larger blistered areas. I have a kit for treating this stuff...a scrub and then lotion with diphenhydramine to apply after the scrub. I spend twice as much time in the bathroom now just to tend to my 'insults'. Other than that, everything is fine, I am fine, it's all fine🤣
QUELI ~ What a neat Barbie advent calendar! How much fun is that going to be!!?
KATE ~ There's Stinky with 'helmet head'! haha! Amazing he could maintain his balance with all those hats piled on his head considering how easy it is for him to topple at any bit of excitement! Always thought the kitten calendar was neat and nostalgic looking. The Moomin calendar also a fun one! I think you did post pictures of them? Aren't double jointed thumbs a hoot? Makes some people cringe though 😆
JACKIE ~ Not sure if you will see this post since you are leaving tomorrow already! Man time flies by so fast! Sorry your sis did break her arm. Hopefully she won't need surgical intervention and won't have a lot of discomfort with it. Hope you have a good trip and a great visit. You have a very nice advent 'box' too. Made a nice piece of furniture for your dolls too.
Shirley...I knoooow! The Doctor is in and he's fabulous! 🙂 ...Whoa, that's a boatload of beautiful boys you posted there. I was trying to pick a favorite, but just couldn't They look good and I like them all!
Kate...I love going to book fairs and I'm sure you had a great time!...Thanks, and I agree, Dr. Who is fab :-)...Your guys are looking good too and it's fun to see Ricky and Stinky in there 🙂
I went to see the movie, The Life of Chuck, with Tom Hiddleston and then I bought the book. I'd never read or seen anything by Stephen King before. The book is actually a flip book and showcases the dance scene in the movie.
QUELI ~ You are spot on! He is a great looking doll! Love his hands in his pockets and the 'leather' coat is awesome.....the whole creation is awesome! Great backdrops for him too! Congrats on a winner from Mattel!
A few more boys and men......left poor Stinky out but, he's not the only one. But, your guy is the cream of the crop, Queli.
Went to a local book fair this morning - a lovely start to the morning and it wasn’t raining (yet) - it is supposed to rain a bit this afternoon and again tomorrow. Their outdoor tents seemed pretty good so I hope they will be okay tomorrow!
Queli - The new Dr. Who is fabulous! Love the Tardis interior backdrop, too.
Shirls - I love the job you did on the Dollar Tree gown - it looks so much like the vintage Holiday Dance - lovely! Great selection of guys!
KATE ~ Oh gosh! What were those Star Trek furry critters called? You must have had fun making them, ha!
I wish we could get some rain. With all the 90+ temperature days we have had and are still having, plus no rain for weeks on end, we are so dry and I'm so tired of watering. Just about ready to just let things go the way of the dodo.
QUELI ~ Nice jumpsuit Barbie is wearing! Very comfy for sight-seeing. ~~~ I used to be a Stephen King fan in the late 70's early 80's. Couldn't keep up with the fast rate his books were being published and eventually stopped reading. I think my favorites were The Shining and The Stand. I thought I had kept The Stand, but can't find it unless it is in the old trunk downstairs. I thought of that book during the COVID pandemic because of the similarities.
JACKIE ~ Always liked the Barbie and Snoopy doll. It has the look of fall, but not the feel. We are having another week of low to mid 90's temperatures. Enjoy your trip and hope you get to see all the beautiful fall colors. Minnesota was always gorgeous! Back then, mid September was peak color time there.
Shirls - I did make that pink fluffy cardigan Cissy is wearing - I knit it out of really fluffy pink yarn (it was difficult to get over her fingers!).
I remember that paper doll you got - love her wardrobe - antique style doll with late 60s/early 70s pops of color!
Love the Wrinkle in Time outfit! 🙂
Queli - Thank you for the "scale" photos - for some reason I thought those dolls were half regular Barbie size. I also sometimes get a bit muddled with the "tall", "petite", etc - technically they are all 1/6 scale (and it does make sense since humans are not all the exact same height)!
Jackie - My car has also had a couple of washings this weekend with all the rain - it is nice and shiny now! I like that photo of the windy beach - a little overcast but still nice to eat out on the deck. I like the Barbie Smoothie cart, too!
xxoo Kate
Some rainwear for the kind of weather we are having! 🙂
How I wish it would rain here! I don't even remember when we had a good rain...seems it has been a couple of months. We are in a moderate drought here with all the heat; no rain. Finally, a forecast calling for rain tomorrow--40% chance. I have heard that before and not get one single drop! Tired of watering😑
I am feeling better but now my right hip is giving me fits. Hard time going up stairs and couldnt go for my daily walk/jog this morning.
QUELI ~ Thanks for posting pics and scale of the Dream Besties dolls. Sure had me fooled into thinking they were Barbie and Ken 'childhood' dolls.
JACKIE ~ Yeah, I wish I had the energy and speed of that youngster; Mazzie. I remember my folks saying that about me when I was a little kid going full throttle all day and into the night! 😂
Love the cheerleader doll! Stinky looks spiffy in his round glasses and I bet he is enjoying a Hawaiian vacation! I like the beach shot! Oh, and the smootie cart! Nice blender in there!
KATE ~ I have always thought the rain-wear for Barbie was pretty neat. Perfect for that Stinky to wear too!
Kate...I knoooow! Those little Barbie minis are just too darling...Thanks for sharing that Feeling Groovy Barbie. She's beautiful as is her fashion!
Jackie...Yes, all is well with me. Good to see you here. Have a safe trip.
Shirley...Glad you're feeling better!...Me too! Love those t-shirts!...Yeah, those mini Barbies are tiny, 1.5"...Thanks for all the pinkness! Your dolls are just lovely.
Jackie - You are off again on another fun trip! I can’t believe summer is pretty much over either. It has been pouring rain here the last two days - the ground really needs it.
Shirls - Glad you are feeling better and that the temps in your area are not as hot! That doll with Stinky was one of those Barbies that came with either the “lips chair†or some fancy chair like that - someone made her in the likeness of Iman in one of the Star Trek movies. Love all your vintage dolls!
Queli - How tall are the little Ken and Barbie? They look like they are Skipper size - at first I thought they were not totally minis but more like Dawn doll size - 6†tall. Mattel keeps coming up with more and more and more!!
Xoxo Kate
Some vintage Barbie booklets - always so fun to look through them!
A shot of the nesting doll gang.
One of my super early photos when I had a lot of Madame Alexander dolls and Emily had to get in the photo!
KATE ~ It's kind of fun to learn the history of our dolls. Some of the Alexander dolls are so cute..like the AA in the pink fur jacket. Did you make that for her? Both William and Emily liked to hang out with you and your dolls and NOT MESS with your stuff!😂 I think it is going to be a while before Mazzie will settle down. She is just far too rambunctious.
The catalogs! I can remember looking at my doll catalogs and thinking how great it would be to have some of the fashions. Had to wait a good number of years before was able to get them, ha!
I thought the box for this paper doll was beautiful! Had to have it! It hangs on the wall in the doll room.
Hi Girls! The crud hung on for about a week, but I am back to "normal"😂 and busy. Now that we finally got out of the 90's and temps are a bit more tolerable, getting caught up with the yard work. Just can't be out in such heat for any length of time. Flower beds are all kaput, so already doing the fall clean-up.
JACKIE ~ Sounds like you have some fun lined up for the fall. I really miss driving to NE in the fall. I haven't done that trip now for (will be this fall), 6 years! Not even sure I would want to tackle a drive like that now by myself, but it is tempting. Those trips always did my psyche some good! Love your Bond set! I have it, but don't know where it is right off-hand, ha!
KATE ~ I remember those dolls. Never did have the Feeling Groovy Barbie although I thought she was pretty cool. The little pug dog is sure cute. Interesting doll at Stinky's cave. As the abominable snow man, he is hard to identify 😂.
QUELI ~ I like the T-shirts too! Especially the Barbie Land one. OK, I kind of thought they were little teeny dolls....but just wasn't sure. Wow, they are small😮
Kate...I knoooow! I loved all of Chelsea's accessories too!...Yes, the mini Barbies were in the photos of my Hallmark Premiere visit....Wow, that is a cool cave. Love the orange critter!
Shirley...So sorry to hear you were sick. Terrible way to spend a birthday!...No, interestingly enough, Chelsea was not from the COVID era, she was just released, but I bought her because of the mask, love it!...Those two items on the chair are the mini Hallmark Barbies...I've always loved Stinky's house, so cute!
Got some new t-shirts. Can't remember where I bought the first one, but I got the 2nd one from Walmart online. They're not going to last long because I've been wearing them all the time!
Queli - Yes! Now I remember the Hallmark premiere - the Superstar Barbie and Christie are great! I always liked those dolls when they first came out.
Now that I'm wandering down memory lane, I liked Billy Boy's Feeling Groovy Barbie, too. There are plenty others I like as well but those are the ones that come to mind now.
Great new t-shirts!
Waving to Jackie and Shirls!
xxoo Kate
Found a photo of the Feeling Groovy Barbie! 🙂
She is wearing a vintage Pet Show fashion from the 80s
Kate...Oh yeah, Michales always has some great minis. I would love to see Stinky next to some of them...I've always loved that fabric and you did such a great job with the fashions.
Shirley...Hope you're feeling better...You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them 🙂 Had to have the books for Barbie's book case...I've always liked that fashion with the yellow fringe your beautiful girl is wearing.
QUELI ~ I was knocked off my feet for a few days with whatever I had. It was a cold-flu-covid symptom combo. Finally able to get up and do a few things today, but would have to lay down at frequent intervals to 'rest' up. What a way to spend a birthday, eh?
Lots of goodies came with that little Chelsea. Interesting she came with a mask...is she from the Covid era of dolls? 🤔 I can't make out what the two items in the chair are...(next to the headphones).
Shirls - I hope you are feeling better - sending good healing vibes your way! And a Happy Belated Birthday to you! The gang looks like they are having a good time at the beach cottage.
Stinky's house is fabulous! I like that he has a toilet and toilet paper!
Queli - What a great new Chelsea doll! I like her little dog and her backpack with teddy bear. I love all the items that come with the dolls. Are those two tiny Barbies on the couch in the earlier photo?
xxoo Kate
At my old house, Stinky would sometimes take over a room in the doll's house (1st photo) and one time he was given a cool cave to live in (2nd & 3rd photos) - most of the time he would just float around and get in as many photos as he could! 🙂
Shirley...Their presentation was very interesting. We'd already seen their art, and now, they were telling us how it came about so we were all very attentive 🙂 I love that doll. Wish it were mine...Yes, Jim Faraone is also an OOAK designer who is very talented...Ooo, lucky you with your new Mulans and LiShang. I like the way they look. Congrats on getting them!...Love, love, love your mini Jack and Sally and Zero. They are too cute! I got them too. Love that they made Jack a little taller than Sally. I'm looking for a shirt to put the round buttons on.
Jackie...I always have a great time at Hallmark Premiere and I'm there for a long time looking at everything. I went to a new Hallmark this time but I didn't like it. They were missing a lot of ornaments and the employees weren't very friendly. Yeah, I bought a few. Very happy with all my purchases...Thanks for sharing your dolls. They are all lovely.
I went to Michaels and had a lot of fun browsing. It's such a fun store.
Love these 1:12 mini rooms, so many lovely details.
Found these charm bags. They are little bit big for Barbie but would be great for 16" dolls.
Shirls - Your new Mulan gang looks great! I bet that one’s face will clean up nicely with some time. And you did a great job on the hats!
Those buttons are wonderful! What a perfect size, too. And I love that mini-Myah has to come check them out.
Jackie - Yes, I now remember Magio 2000 - I remember Ninimomo, too. I think Ninimomo designed the Cleveland Convention doll in 2010.
Queli - Those 1/12th scale minis from Michaels are lovely! They would look great in the garden of a doll’s house. Stinky would also work well with them!
Not sure if I have allergies or if I am coming down with a cold or flu. So uncomfortable in such hot weather. I am leaning towards a flu/cold thingy since have sore throat, headache, etc.
QUELI ~ I have not been to Michael's in a long while! Looks as though you had an interesting shopping experience. Thanks for sharing what you saw because I spy several really neat things. I think the garden houses are fabulous!! Would be hard to choose just which one. A deciding factor for me would be size and how much room it would take! Wow! Neat halloween items; really like the books...
KATE ~ Oh, more Generation of Dreams fashions! They all look great. The doll in box took up a lot of space and even the dress takes some room. Haven't had the heart to part with it though so it stays on display.
JACKIE ~ It did cool down for us for about 5 days, but it is gradually heating back up again. Beautiful Silky! And the others are 'fun to have' dolls.
I found some cool buttons today at Walmart quite by accident....wasn't looking for buttons. I got the last package. Removed the 'button hole' from the back. (they are leaning up against the penguin's chair. Mini Myah wants to check them out). There were 2 others in the packet.
Jackie...Bummer that you never found Hagrid. You can still find him on amazon...We will miss them.
Shirley...Thanks...You posted such colorful girls!
Kate...Thanks! Absolutely loved Norbert. I've been looking for one for a while...Haha, that's what Allan gets for playing with Stinky 🙂
At the 2022 National Barbie convention, Mario Paglino (right) and Gianni Grossi gave an audiovisual presentation where they explained how they became OOAK designers-Magia 2000. Then they took us through their creative process from start to finish. You see the end result which they presented to the buyer. She was over the moon. May they Rest In Peace.
Shirley...Yep, very neat! Love the way Allan looks. He looks great next to my Barbies...OMGoodness, look at all the hair on Venus! Love the bright colors! I'm so happy with my new dolls...Barbie looks very chill in that fashion, double thumbs up!
Jackie...Welcome back...Yes, so sad 😞
Kate...Thank you! Switching the hands is definitely a plus!...Haha! A rockstar?! That was great advice 🙂 All the girls are swooning!

·10 months agoHi Shirls, glad you and hubby had a nice day for Thanksgiving. I went to have dinner
with my friend. Her kitties were in turkey heaven! The air smelled delicious.
Sorry to hear your friend also has kidney stone issues. Hurts a lot!!
I am back to my normal back issues. I see the spine doctor on Friday.
Getting old didn't sound like it would be this tough!
I will be going to Ohio to see my son on the 10th until Jan, 2.
I know there will be snow and cold!
I hope you all have a fun holiday planned.
I have Bingo tomorrow!

·10 months agoJackie, in spite of age and certain health problems, it sure is good to know you are still enjoying life and are always on the go.

Hopefully this will not become a trend!

·10 months agoHi Jackie & welcome home!
Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

·11 months agoHi Shirls....The fun of this site is that I don't feel pressure to post on
a regular basis now. Just having fun when I can get here.
Hi Kate... so glad that we have had a long time to post with each other!!
Hi Queli... love when you take us shopping with you.
I discovered that I have degenerating discs in my back, So I am looking
at some Physical Therapy and then whatever comes after that, I go to things
when I want but am aware that walking long distances doesn't happen any more.
I use a walker in my hallways and sometimes when I go places. Any store
with a cart works for me too.
Age becomes an issue as we find ourselves seeing our MOM or Grandmother
in the mirror. But I plan to have fun every day.... and Barbie is a big part of that even
if I am only making her a new dress or a diorama for the holiday.
I am sure that we can still show up here when we have time and enjoy photos old or new,

·11 months agoOK.
See you gals later hopefully, on the 31st.

Shirls - I totally understand about taking a break. It has been so busy at work lately I haven't had time to do anything else at all. I don't do much with dolls either - I like seeing photos of what is out there (a big shout out and thank you to Queli for posting all the new doll photos!!).

So sorry to hear about your tick bites and poison ivy.
I remember when our friend Marie laid down in poison oak
to take photos of her Halloween set up in the woods.
It was fabulous!!
She spent the next few weeks getting over the poison oak!
Hi Queli... love the new photos of the new dolls. Glad you got
the red head Christmas doll. I hope I can find one.
Hi Kate... Christmas is coming soon.
We have a Halloween party here. Always fun. I have a pumpkin costume that slips over
your head. Cute and easy!
Shirls... so sad about your garden. You had such a lovely one and had to
dig it up. Hope you will be able to plant a new one and not have critters take over.
I am going on a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas November 1-6. Just a short trip to no where.
I dont care if I dont get off the ship. 3 friends are coming along this trip.
Having fun doing fun stuff!

·11 months agoGood Saturday afternoon,
Time is flying, I could have sworn I posted last weekend - I can’t believe we are more than half-way through October!

·11 months agoHooRay!
I hope Queli is OK.

·11 months agoEven a war horse has to take time out for some fun on Halloween!

Queli - The new sweaters are just great! I like the gnomes and the little ice skating cat. The new pink fairy Barbie is pretty - I like the orange/pink hair!

·1 year agoKATE ~ Looking at the empty garden today and already have a couple of ideas in mind for when spring comes.

I haven't bought them yet, but I will.
shirleys809304
·1 year agoQUELI ~ Don't know beans about the movie and had no idea Jeff Goldblum would be the wizard.

The doll was fine but if I had bought it as a gift I would have returned it.
shirleys809304
·1 year agoOooooh QUELI!

·1 year agoGood Saturday afternoon,
Jackie - I’m sorry about your poor sister - glad you will be with her!
Xoxo Kate
shirleys809304
·1 year agoHi girls!

Hope you are well and staying that way!!
We have occasional rains this time of year, Sept. 10 was the height of
hurricane season... and we have had a very low number this time with
none to report here other than rain and wind but no damage. Of course,
we are still watching to see what kicks up in the ocean.

Glad I already have a ticket to get up there soon,
Going to Ohio first to check on my son and then to Michigan.
The fall colors ought to be good by then.

·1 year agoHi JACKIE 😊 You like my double-jointed thumb?

·1 year agoOh!

Shirley...I hope you get some rain soon...You're welcome. Glad it was helpful...Love Barbie's white and gold gowns! Ken's looking good too 🙂
Got the 15th Doctor Who doll from Mattel Creations. He looks fab and I absolutely love him! Great job, Mattel!

·1 year agoQUELI ~ You are spot on!

·1 year agoGood Saturday morning,
Went to a local book fair this morning - a lovely start to the morning and it wasn’t raining (yet) - it is supposed to rain a bit this afternoon and again tomorrow.
Xoxo Kate
Guy line-up from 2015! 🙂

·1 year agoHi Queli... Summer has come to an end in a flash!!
Love to see what our friends at Mattel have been making for us,
Hallmark likes to get in on the fun too!
Hi Shirls... glad you are feeling better, it is no fun to be sick.
Your doll room has such fun surprisesl
Your kitty is still young enough to have energy... wish I did!! Ha!
Hi Kate... still in the 80s here every day but we get showers nearly every day.
I got drenched again yesterday coming home. Rains hard enough to clean off the car.
Bonus,,, right?
Happy Labor Day weekend, I hope you are all having a good time.

·1 year agoHappy Labor Day, everyone!

·1 year agoHappy Labor Day everyone!

Kate...the Dream Besties Ken and Barbie are regular size, see photo below. Love seeing photos of your cats with your dolls. They make me smile 🙂
Just to clarify, these Hallmark mini Barbies are 1.5"H.
The Dream Besties Ken and Barbie on the left are 1:6 scale. Ken is 11.5"H, Barbie is 11"H.

·1 year agoGood Saturday morning,
Jackie - You are off again on another fun trip!
One of my super early photos when I had a lot of Madame Alexander dolls and Emily had to get in the photo!
shirleys809304
·1 year agoKATE ~ It's kind of fun to learn the history of our dolls.

WE are having a brat party here next week.
Hard to think that summer is almost over and schools are
back in session in some places already.
Shirls... love Stinky's house. He is a lucky guy!!
Kate... hope all is well for you.
Queli... hope all is well for you too.
I have been busy doing stuff. Getting ready for another trip
to Ohio and Michigan Sept. 19- Oct. 7. Lots of fun stuff planned.
Our cousins get together will be fun for the last weekend in Sept.

·1 year agoHi Girls!

·1 year agoGood Sunday morning,
Queli - Yes!

OP1 year agoHello there, hope you're doing well.
New Chelsea in the house!
shirleys809304
·1 year agoQUELI ~ I was knocked off my feet for a few days with whatever I had.

OP1 year agoHello everyone, I hope you are doing well.
They also had some great stickers
I got the kettles, tombstones and books.

·1 year agoGood Sunday morning,
Shirls - Your new Mulan gang looks great!

·1 year agoHi Kate...Mario and Giani were Barbie recreators that used the
name Magio 2000. They have been selling their beautiful recreations
for 23 years. Artist Creations and Ninimomo are 2 other teams of 2 people
designing new Barbie creations. They use a real Barbie and give her
a great hairstyle, repaint the face and give her a wonderful new outfit.
I can send you an email later.
Hi Queli... much cooler here now and lots of rain coming later today,
We get a downpour at least once a day lately. I try hard not to get wet!!
Love the new Hallmark goodies. I see you brought a few home with you!
The Harry Potter small set is really neat. Love the book lights from Hallmark.
Hi Shirls.. hope you are having better weather now too.
We have our first hurricane that may be forming in the Atlantic to keep watch of,
They predict a busy active season,
Hope all is well with all of you.

·1 year agoJACKIE ~ It did cool down for us for about 5 days, but it is gradually heating back up again.

OP1 year agoHello everyone!
