I have about 60 barbies that are still in the box in good condition. Wanting to see how much the whole collection could be worth

And just so many can know - Alot of these Posters have been posting in the old Barbie and Doll Forums from many many years ago.
There's been a lot of harsh words and meanness going on lately about doll answers.
Just my opinion.

·2 months agoIt depends on the specific doll, its condition, and the condition of its box.
You’ll need to research each doll individually, as mentioned, and also check out similar doll lots for comparison. Check out the "solds".

·2 months agoIf you decide to investigate sold listings to find out what a particular doll has sold for, you still need to consider the condition of said doll or to make it easier, sum together the total sales amounts on that doll and take an average because there will be a variance in sold price amounts. That is what I used to base what the max price I was willing to PAY for a doll. Just my 2 cents worth.
And, you really can't go by what current listings of fellow sellers are asking for. Some are selling lower to rid themselves of a doll and others want to make a buck.

There's absolutely no way to even guess from the information you've given. Are these vintage dolls or modern? By "in the box" do you mean Never Removed From Box (NRFB) or just returned to the original box? If they're modern dolls are they playline, collector, or a combination? What condition are the boxes? Box condition is important to collectors and will have an effect on value. What condition are the dolls? Even NRFB dolls degrade -- the vinyl degrades and quite often fabrics change color. As others have suggested looking up sold prices is a good place to start, but condition will factor into it.
There are a host of Barbies that you'll be hard pressed to even sell. There are many others that you'll be lucky to get $5 for. Then again, there are Barbies that can bring hundreds. There are a select few that can bring $1000+ (this is for modern dolls -- vintage is a whole 'nother realm).
I agree that selling the dolls as a single lot is not the way to go. Beyond the fact that shipping will be prohibitive, huge lots is not how the vast majority of collectors collect. Collectors are looking for specific dolls to fill out our collections, not a big group that contains many dolls we either already have or don't want. What big single lots attract is dealers, who won't pay more than half the retail value.

·2 months agoGreat post, insight, and advice, but I think it should be said that the OP mentioned nothing about selling the Barbies as a lot. They just want an idea of what the entire collection is worth. They may be wanting to get some idea if the payoff is going to be worth all the work of listing (and possibly re-listing, and re-listing) them.

·2 months agoI specifically responded to your post because I wanted to pass along my kudos for it being a very good one. I said nothing about you (or others) not being allowed to respond the way you wish. I was just cautioning that the OP said nothing about selling the Barbies as a lot because your response and a couple of others seemed to be taking that tack and I was getting concerned about dogpiling on a point that the OP may not have intended to make.

·2 months agoThere is no easy answer – it’s going to take a bit of work. You’ll have to research sold items. Your collection might be worth $1000, it might be worth $100,000 – there’s such a big price range of Barbies. If you see one with a huge price tag on it – better to go to the research part of the seller hub. You want to see if some of those crazy prices actually resulted in successful sales.
If you were thinking of listing all of it into one lot – considered not doing that. I would not think that you’d get top dollar – selling in big lots is easier, sure – but you will likely net less than if you list each Barbie separately. A lot less.

·2 months agoAbout the only way I can see for you to be able to establish a value would be to look up each SOLD one and check the price. Not sure how many takers you will get if you put them all together for a price, but you could just do that to find out. If the collection does not sell, you could always start over and list each individually or even in lots of 3-4 at a time. Hopefully, there are Barbie sellers here who can offer more useful information.

·2 months agoI would search the sold listings for each doll on eBay and then just add it all up. That will give you a rough estimate on what they are currently selling for.

·2 months agoThe thing about that is that there are so many variables. None of us, including the OP, would know anything about the dolls that were sold. Then again, it would be the only way to even come close to figuring out a price for the dolls.
