Zero feedback buyer says item not received despite tracking showing delivered
$450 item delivered according to USPS tracking. I sent it USPS Priority insured. The Ebay chat bot said I don't need to do anything since it shows delivered. I just wanted to check in and see if that is in fact the case. Should I do anything? How should I respond to the buyer?

OP10 months agoThank you! Moving forward, am I allowed to cancel orders for zero feedback buyers and refund their money? I understand that they may be valid new buyers, but for more expensive items I would rather not take the chance and have to go through all the hassles with seller protection, removing negative feedback, etc.

-The short answer is no, eBay makes no provisions for cancelling or blocking zero or low Feedback customers. You list, sell and ship.
-When you Cancel a transaction there are only three reasons to choose from. You would have to select Out of stock and wind up getting some very damaging strikes on your account.
-They could also be Buying as a Guest
-Every account on eBay starts with zero feedback, if they were all blocked or their transactions cancelled no business would take place.

Not because they have zero feedback. If you were listing as auctions, you could cancel a bid for any reason, or no reason at all, but your listings are buy it now. You don't know who the buyer is until after the item has been bought. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/member-behavior-policies/order-cancellation-policy?id=5298

If you purchased your label through eBay tracking is automatically uploaded to the sold item. Take a screen shot of the tracking history showing it was delivered and message the Buyer attaching the tracking history. Let them know eBay's record shows it was delivered to the address on file at the time of the purchase.
If they filed an official eBay claim make sure tracking is uploaded to the claim.
If they persist advise them that if they think the package was stolen they will have to contact their local police and file a stolen property report and possibly pursue an insurance claim with their home owners or renters insurance company.
