wrong shipping costs selected by buyer

Question

I just sold an item. I had inadvertently left media shipping option on the listing along with usps ground. The buyer apparently selected media. I sent out the invoice with a note that the item cannot ship media. I tried to change the shipping method on the invoice prior to sending it but ebay would not allow me to do that. How do I correct the problem?

Hi @mary12249

You're not allowed to attempt to charge the buyer more for shipping than what was shown on the listing. In your situation, the buyer pays for Media Mail, but you ship via Ground Advantage and cover the difference in cost out of pocket.

It's a bad idea to even mention this to the buyer as it will only make the buyer feel uncomfortable.
