wrong item received
I received a pair of earring stud type, instead of the pendant I was supposed to have received. Now the seller thinks I should pay shipping cost along with box and padding cost to send it back to him. This is going to cost me at least another $10 that I shouldn't have to pay for someone elses mistake.
I can't call ebay as they seem to have taken that function away from us and now it's all automated. my complaint was handled by automation and rejected. I'm still trying to get the seller to send me a shipping label but I don't think they will.
I shouldn't have to pay time and money to make something right that is not my wrong. This guy said someone else got my pendant. He wants me to send to that person and that person send me my pendant. I certainly don't want to do that as then I am taking the situation outside of ebay on a personal level. If anything is lost or not received, it will be my problem then. So no! I don't see that as a reasonable option. I told the seller it is his problem and not mine. I told him he should send me the free return label and my pendant. Anyone know if we can still talk to ebay people by phone? Any advise???

Mentor2 years agoYou're right to refuse to send the item to the correct buyer. A seller is not allowed to provide personal information (including the name and address) of another buyer.
This is what to do...
If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
