Wrong item ordered
Hello,
This is now the second time I have experienced the same issue on your platform. I place an order, realize shortly afterward (within the same day) that I made a mistake, and immediately request a cancellation. However, the seller ignores my request, proceeds with the shipment anyway, and later refuses to accept a return.
I find this extremely frustrating and far from customer-friendly. A platform of your scale should have a more effective and user-oriented solution for situations like this. If this continues, I strongly believe it will lead to a significant loss of customer trust and loyalty.
What concerns me even more is that I have been trying to contact eBay support for the past 15 minutes, but the system keeps redirecting me back to the seller. The whole reason I am reaching out to you is because I have already been unable to resolve the issue with the seller.
This is not acceptable. I expect to be able to communicate directly with the platform when such issues arise.
As of now, I am planning to contact my bank first thing in the morning to dispute this transaction. However, this should not be the only solution. There should be a simpler and more effective way to handle such cases through your system.
I kindly ask you to review this situation and provide a proper resolution.
Thank you,
selforfun

I understand why this feels frustrating, especially when you catch the mistake right away and try to cancel.
On eBay, a cancellation is only a request. If the seller has already processed or shipped the order, they can still complete the shipment, and they may not always see the message in time.
eBay’s Money Back Guarantee is there to protect you if the item doesn’t arrive or isn’t as described, but it doesn’t cover ordering the wrong item.
Once the item arrives, you can still open a return from your purchase history:
https://www.ebay.com/mye/myebay/purchase
You’ll need to select the reason, and for this type of situation it’s considered buyer’s remorse, so return shipping is usually your responsibility.
I know it’s not the ideal outcome, but that’s how the system is set up today, especially with many sellers shipping quickly or handling a high volume of orders.
