Wrong item arrived

Question

I ordered a vcr but received a printer. How do I resolve this? I want to ship the printer back and receive the correct item.

ebay's Money Back Guarantee expires 30 days after receipt of the item.

Go to My ebay > Purchase History

Locate the item. Click on RETURN THIS ITEM because it is Not as Described. You will need to click on More to see that option. The seller will need to provide a prepaid shipping label for its return. ebay sends you a link to print out the label. Print out the label, affix it to the box, and have the counter clerk scan the label. When tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you within 2 days. If no refund, go back to the case and click on Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.

You may be better off asking for a refund, then buying the correct item from another seller, particularly if the seller has switched labels and sent your VCR to another buyer. It is much easier and quicker for eBay to verify that a refund has actually been made, versus the correct item shipped to you.

If the item is "not as described" you need to start a "not as described" return within thirty days of receiving it. You will have to provide a picture of the item and a couple of sentences of text about the issue.

If the seller does not refund you or provide a return shipping label you should be able to ask eBay to step in after three business days. The process is automated; if the seller does not cooperate at any point, ask eBay to step in after three business days but before twenty-one business days has passed.
