wrong item
I ordered an item from an outfit on ebay called techreviv216 and paid $169 but an entirely different item was received, I do believe this was deliberate because the outfit neither apologized or helped. I was sent a return label but on taking the box to the Post Office the return label was almost $40 short, I had to pay this to return the wrong item. Techreviv216 promised to refund $40 but never did, I complained to ebay, they got me a refund for the item I ordered and promised to contact the seller about my $40 postage cost. Bottom line is I cannot receive my postage paid to return an item I never ordered, ebay do not seem interested, I feel this seller is a rogue outfit but I have no correct name/address to sue them for my postage. Ebay have acted terribly, I would never trust them again

I’m sorry that customer service was not able to help. The only way they could have helped is if you did not pay the $40 before asking for help. They probably would have refunded your payment without having to return the item. Now they have no way to force the seller to reimburse you. (The seller can’t reimburse you unless he asks for your PayPal address, or Venmo or zelle address or phone #.)
I think it would cost a lot more than the $40 to sue the seller. I know it would feel good, but it probably isn’t worth it.

OP8 months agoThanks, the seller is a crook, promised to refund my postage then lied saying they had not received the return despite sending them the USPS tracking details. My view is they never had the item I ordered especially as they offered it at half the price of others. On principle I would sue if I had their details
Bottom line is unlike Amazon, it seems anyone can do almost anything on ebay, if the latter was a good company they easily (knowing the facts) could have made the seller refund my postage, I will never again buy anything through ebay
