Would ebay consider lowering the days required to pay to 48 hours instead of 4 days. 4 days is a long time to wait for someone to not pay. The market can move against you.
Would Ebay consider lowering the days required to pay to 48 hours instead of 4 days? 4 days is a long time to wait for someone to not pay. The market can move against you. The Ebay "Buyer Rules" whereby a buyer must present a payment method before a bid of offer is not effective at all. The buyer still has 4 days to pay or not pay.

-First, I see you sold 29 items in the last 90 days but currently have nothing for sale. It looks like you sell all of your items via Auction format. Do you have auctions Scheduled to start this weekend?
-I prefer selling Auction style for higher value, rare items or specific categories.
-Please quantify the number of UPIs (Unpaid items) you have received? Is it every week, once a month? I normally don't get many but recently I had 5 in the last couple of weeks which is high for my categories. Hopefully it is just one of those odd cycles.
-One thing you have to realize is that just because you decide when an auction will End it does not mean the Ending time is convenient for all of your potential customers.
-One work around I have done, and I just did it on the 2 UPIs I had from last weekend, is to do a Sell Similar and launch a new auction for the item on my normal listing cycle. This cuts down on lost time having to wait 4 days to Cancel and giving the Buyer their well deserved UPI strike. If they wind up paying you can then End the other auction(s) you started. As of this writing I have never had to End the Sell Similar auction I created.
-Buyer profiles for what I sell often point to a potential UPI coming. I have found that lower FB (Feedback) count members tend not to pay more than higher FB count Buyers. I have one right now that I am cringing about and hope the Buyer gets outbid ... they have less than (10) FB count and a 3 1/2 year old account and only ONE FB as a Buyer in the last month.
-I don't use Auto-pay because I have Buyers win and purchase more than one item on a regular basis. Personally I would prefer that Auto-pay was set PER listing opposed to a global account setting. If eBay would drop that silly extended time they give Buyers to "shop" (since I offer Combined shipping) then I might try it.
-I have used the Second chance offer over the years with very limited success so I tend not to do that.

OP3 weeks agoI would say I have a non-paying bidder 5-10% of the time lately. It looks like my most recent auction will be 2 times in a row. I know that if someone does not pay with 24 hours, then they do not pay in 4 days. Some do it on purpose (per their past comments to me) - perhaps because of jealousy of the expensive items that I sell. I have been on eBay since 2000 - one of the original sellers - and have never had this high of a % of NPB issues. I hate to say that there a lot of eBay members who are discourteous at best.

ebay giving buyers 4 days to pay will probably not be changed. It has benefits for both buyers and sellers, especially if they list items as Auctions. It allows a buyer to bid on other auctions ending within that time and request combined shipping and saves the seller from refunding shipping overcharges. Combined shipping within that time does not affect the seller's account if items are not shipped within their handling time.
Believe it or not some buyers are able to delay payment for up to 7 days if they are eligible for Pay in seven. Do a search for " What is ebay's Pay in 7 auto charge? "

OP3 weeks agoI avoid this by not allowing combined invoices. At least that works.
