Won an Auction - Seller won't reply to my messages.
Hello, this is my first post so apologies for any unnecessary bits.
I have won an auction on an item I didn't look at the photo in enough detail (which is my fault) and have contacted the seller, as soon as the auction was over that I did so - I wanted to cancel the order. I did express that I am happy to pay for it as I know how frustrating it can be for this to happen and have it anyway - the seller has since then not responded to any of my messages meaning my time to cancel the order myself has expired (They have been uploading listings since my first messages of 7) - I really just want a response as the deadline to pay is tomorrow and I do not want a mark against my account or negative feedback. The fact I thought I was doing the nice thing in messaging them before just automatically cancelling my order has led the time to expire is frustrating.
I would just like to know were I stand in terms of appealing any negative feedback and if I were to have a mark against my account, thank you.

·2 years agoThere is no negative feedback allowed for buyers but you do get what used to be called a "strike" if the seller cancels for non-payment after 4 days. 2 of those in 12 months triggers a block sellers can set for serial non-payers. And it would figure into calculations of your buyer limits.
The seller is not required to cancel as "buyer requested" nor respond to such request. You are required to pay.
A buyer cannot cancel an order. The 1 hour limit is simply for a special procedure where in some circumstances the order will be cancelled if the seller doesn't respond in 3 days. The time for a buyer to decide s/he doesn't want the item is before s/he commits to buy it, not 1 hour or 1 minute or 1 second after.
