Won’t refund until positive feedback received
I received an item that was broken. Initiated the return process with the seller weeks ago. They kept asking for photos, etc. Offered to refund half of what I paid to eliminate the hassle of returning a broken product. I countered with a 75% refund and they just replied that they will apply the refund AFTER I leave them a good review. Is this normal? Seems sketchy. I did purchase through PayPal.

Mentor2 years agoYou are entitled to a FULL refund (not 50-75%) and the seller is required to pay for the return shipping if he wants the item back.
If you received an item that is not as described/damaged, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
You can add photos of the damaged item and packaging to the return case.
Never leave positive feedback as a condition of receiving action from the seller. That's feedback extortion and you can report it here:

OP2 years agoNote—I wasn’t planning on leaving negative feedback, since stuff happens, but this not-quite-extortion bothers me
