why does e-bay charge wisconsin state tax for bullion when there is none?

Mentor1 year agoThis question comes up several times a month.
Usually when eBay charges a sales tax that the buyer thinks is wrong,
the reason is that the seller did not list the item in an eBay category that corresponds to the state's non-taxable-items rules/regulations/laws.
You might be able to contact your state's taxing authorities to request a refund. You can check your state's websites to see if that's possible.
OR maybe -- let this slide. Surely the State of Wisconsin will use your sales taxes properly, don't you think?
