winning bids
it seems that a policy change somewhere in the eBay system has had the unfortunate results of limiting our selections of payment methods. If you win a bid and it's automatically sent for payment this negates you option to use PayPal Credit for those qualifying purchases. How do you avoid this?

·2 years agoDon't make offers when you are required to pre-authorize the automatic payment unless you are willing for it to be by one of the payment methods you can specify when you click the "Change" link for payment method on the confirmation screen that is there if you are required to pre-authorize. Some payment methods are simply not suitable to the pre-authorization hold that is required for those listings.
For auction bids it is more complicated. That is still in the experimental phase with only the buyers who have been put into the latest test affected who are bidding on one of the listings where it is required for them. The rules are subject to change as the tests go on. You can try to pay manually ASAP after you win and you might be able to do so and have more payment options in Checkout.
