Winning bidder wants me to ship an item to a different address.
This feels like a scam to me, the winning bidder on my expensive item is a relatively new account and they're asking me to change the ship-to address and I feel uncomfortable about this.
What are my options?

OP2 years agoThank you inceptions, I appreciate it. I'm not seeing how to cancel the transaction, but I'll take a look again, I may be missing something.

You'll find the cancellation option in the dropdown next to the transaction in your orders list. Select the reason that there is an issue with the buyer's address.

For seller protection, you are required to ship to the address on the payment.
Assuming the member making the request for a change has the same member ID as your buyer, you should cancel the transaction and relist so the buyer can repurchase it, making sure he chooses/adds the correct address at checkout.
If the member ID on the message is different from your buyer's, it's a scammer and you can report that to eBay using the report link in the Actions dropdown in the message.
