Winning Bidder Does Not Pay
Hi,
Just wondering if there is a way to report a person who won a bid but did not pay. Is this tracked by Ebay or is there a way I can make sure this person is reported?
Thanks

·2 years agoYou cancel the transaction for non-payment if the buyer doesn't pay within the 4 calendar days eBay gives them. Look under More Actions in your list of sold items. (that reason doesn't appear in the submenu for cancellations until the 4 days has fully elapsed). You can automate this process in your seller settings for Preferences for Items Awaiting Payment (but remember that you have done this if you agree to give a buyer more time to pay, e.g. to combine shipping after multiple wins/purchases) and go back to that page to add that buyer to the exemption list at the bottom.
Such unpaid cancellation puts a "strike" (eBay no longer uses that term but it is appropriate) on his/her account that is counted when s/he attempts to bid/offer/buy from any seller who has set a Buyer Requirement to block anyone with 2 or more strikes within the past 12 or fewer months. The unpaid cancellation also prevents the buyer from leaving feedback for the seller (or vice versa, but since sellers can't leave anything but positive feedback no big loss there), frees up the status of the sale so the seller can safely relist (there is an option on the cancellation form whether to do so or not), and affects the buyer's general eBay buying limits.

Mentor2 years agoIf a buyer hasn't paid by day five, select the cancellation option in the dropdown next to the order using the reason that the buyer hasn't paid. The buyer will earn an unpaid item strike on his account. Two or more and his ability to buy will be limited or even ended.
Add the buyer to your blocked buyer list here:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Scroll down that page and turn on the option to auto-block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items within 12 months. That will help to protect you from repeat offenders.
