Windows 11 scam
I purchased two computers from one seller and another from a different one that advertised they were loaded with windows 11 and sold as is and with a no return policy. After receiving the items i found that windows 11 was forced upon units that are not compatible with this version which causes the computers to run very slow and Microsoft will not update them with critical patches. The community needs to be made aware of this as I thought it was not possible to load 11 onto noncompliant units but later found that yes you can force 11 onto a noncompliant unit. I attempted to submit a report but kept getting "not sent" message and not sure what it was asking for me to complete. Perhaps someone from Ebay will see this message and address it as I think this will lead to many disgruntled members.

OP9 months agoTherein lies the rub as it were. Technically they are not incorrect in their description, the item itself is as advertised and rates a + however they also state that it comes with Windows 11 loaded and this is a true statement. Hence they are not in violation of item description. The issue lies in the fact that according to Microsoft version 11 cannot be loaded on legacy hardware as the software and the hardware do not play nice together. I started running the machine and it was sloooow and I never could get it to load necessary updates. That was when I started researching the problem. I was under the impression that 11 could not be loaded on some machines when I bought my machines. I discovered afterward that yes 11 can be loaded (forced) on legacy machine but will not run properly. So the fact that they are not incorrect in their advertised information results in no grounds for recourse on the buyer. So given these facts as stated do you still believe I have a case, doubtful in my mind. My reason for my missive was to raise awareness to this problem as there are others that will be looking for entry into 11 and will fall prey to these sellers. Thoughts??

·9 months agoWhen you receive an item that is not as described, the sellers return policy doesn’t matter. The eBay money back guarantee overrules the sellers no return policy. If it’s been less than 30 days since you received it, locate the item in your purchase history and open a case for Item Not As Descrbed.
