Will usually ship within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment Handling Time???
As a buyer and seller on eBay for over 25 years I have witnessed many unusual listings. A recent purchase on 8/31/26 had "Will usually ship within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment." As a seller the only options I have available for handling times are 1 business day to 40 business days. How did this seller get such a sneaky way to avoid being out of compliance for missing expected handling time?

Mentor1 month agoThey are not avoiding anything. They likely just don't understand how they are rated for Handling Time. If their actual handling time exceeds the number of days chosen, they will get dinged for it, just like everyone else. They most likely have never checked their Dashboard to know they are out of compliance. Or they say that in their listings, but still ship within the actual Handling Time. The metric for the Handling Time threshold is a percentage, so nobody gets dinged for 1 or 2, it has to exceed the percentage allowed. eBay understands that on occasion, a seller may not be able to meet their Handling Time.
The other possibilty is that that verbiage may be a holdover from way back when we used to be able to accept checks & sellers waited for the checks to clear.
But, rest assured, everyone sees the exact same options & has to select from the exact same options. This seller is not not getting away with anything. They are empty words.
