Why won't old searches "Frequently searched by you" go away?

Question

Every day the same old search items - frozen from one search, one day - populate the Ebay homescreen. Recent searches go unremembered, still older searches have been forgotten. I believe we used to have an option to clear old searches - why was that removed? Clearing "Saved searches" and "Recently Viewed" items works - but there's no way to either clear or replace this one old set of "Frequent searches" (which weren't even "Frequent" to begin with!).

You can clear all of your recently viewed items.

Go to My eBay>Recently Viewed

There is a Button at the top right of that page to "clear all"

If you want to remove old searches

My eBay>Saved Serches

Use the "More Actions" Dropdown to delete the old searches. (Unsave)
