WHY WERE SHIPPING CARRIER TRACKING NUMBERS REMOVED FROM ORDER DELIVERED EMAILS?
Ebay just changed the format of the "order delivered" emails they send out when an item is delivered.
As recently as July 5th, I received two emails from ebay that notified me two items I ordered were delivered. These emails included the shipping carrier's tracking number for the item. These emails have included this information for some time, and it is extremely helpful when someone (like me) orders 20+ similar items at one time and receives multiple items in the mail, all at once, and sellers don't bother to print their ebay user names on the shipping labels and don't include a packing slip with the item.
Well today (July 7th) someone at ebay decided to make a change with regards to these emails. The shipping carrier tracking number is no longer in the email. So I have NO quick way of determining who's package I received if the seller didn't print their ebay username on the shipping label and they did not include a packing slip with the item.
Now I am required to open the multiple orders I placed on ebay and scroll down multiple pages of orders to view the tracking numbers that way (instead of previously just being able to see the tracking number right in the email associated with each item delivery).
Thanks ebay for literally adding HOURS of work to my week by deleting tracking numbers from your "order delivered" emails.
Ebay used to list tracking numbers for each item on My Ebay's "Purchases" page but they changed that last year or the year before.
I just don't understand this company. Why is it necessary to make changes to a system that works for people. And why did someone think it would be more helpful to give the customer less information (like shipping tracking numbers) in delivery notification emails?
