Why was I blocked by this seller?
I wanted to buy a movie from a seller and I asked some questions about the item before buying. I didn't get an answer from the seller so I decided to go ahead and buy the movie and when I clicked buy it now I got this message: "The seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you."
I don't understand why I got blocked. I have 100% positive feedback and I have never failed to pay for an item and I always pay immediately. I try to always be kind and polite when I contact sellers. I am in the USA and the seller is also so I don't think it's because of location. And I don't have a PO box. I don't think I have bought from this seller before and even if I did I don't see how he could have had a negative experience with me as a buyer.
Here is the message I sent to the seller asking about the item:
"Hi,
I would like to order this with faster shipping. I would like to get it by Aug 24 (my birthday) Can you please add the shipping method to the listing that will get it to me by or before that date? I know the estimate says Wed, Aug 16 and Mon, Aug 21 but I might not get it in time with that method. What format is this VHS? Is it Pal, NTSC, SECAM? Does it come in the original box or or a clamshell case or a box or case with artwork?
Thanks,
(name)"
I didn't order early enough to get the item when I wanted it so I asked if the seller could change the shipping method to a faster one. And I asked about other details about the item that weren't in the listing. I asked if the movie comes in box or case with cover art and there were pictures showing the cover art and the descriptions also said the move comes in the case with cover art. But I made a stupid mistake because I had my image blocker turned on. I still don't see why that would be a reason to block a serious buyer who has 100% positive feedback as a seller and buyer. Isn't it about making money? That's losing a sale. Why block someone for any little reason or arbitrarily? I think he blocked me hastily. And shouldn't eBay make it so seller can give a reason for blocking someone so they're not left wondering why and they might learn something? Shouldn't blocking only be used when there is a serious problem with a buyer like not paying or harassment?
Was I unfairly blocked? Let me know what you think.

Mentor2 years agoAll buyers have 100% feedback for buying, even the buyers that wind up getting blocked. As a seller yourself, you should know this.
Sellers are not required to justify or explain their blocks, nor are they required to reconsider.
Most likely you were blocked because you asked for special treatment in the form of faster shipping that the seller did not offer, you indicated that you wanted the item to be received by a certain date which the seller has little or no control over, and because you asked multiple questions that could be answered by looking at the listing and the pictures, which you apparently did not do.
Rather than risk disappointing you and possibly receiving negative feedback, the seller decided to block you instead.
If you ask many questions and generally indicate that you may be a difficult buyer likely to leave negative feedback if your item does not arrive in time for your birthday, sellers are not likely to respond well to that, and may choose to block you rather than deal with you.
