Why is there no way to complain to Ebay when their watch authenticator damages an item sent to them?
I recently purchased a Panerai watch, via Buy It Now. The communication with the seller was great, he shipped it to the authenticator right away to have it authenticated, per eBay guarantee, and then they sent it to me. The watch looked perfectly as described and I was very happy with it. Literally within 5 days, I was driving and shook my wrist, and I heard something from the watch,. I look at my wrist and I can see that the metal case back had come separated from the watch. I quickly pulled over, took off the watch, and saw that the back was completely off. I placed the rubber seal in place and screwed the plate in, to make sure nothing got inside of it. It screwed in fine so you can tell that the watch itself is not defective. This has to be the fault of the authenticators' negligence to not screw the back on properly after opening it to examine the inside, which is part of the authentication process. Now I have to bring the watch to a Panerai certified repair store and pay to reseal the watch as well as tighten the plate with the special tool that is needed to tighten it properly. I do not understand why eBay has no way of contacting them directly to complain. The authenticator and / or eBay should be paying for this service I now have to do myself. The only option is to request a refund or discuss a problem with the seller, which I do not want to do. Make it make sense?
