Why is support so bad and how can I fix this MAJOR ISSUE?
Summary: dragonfi_7232 expressed frustration over an eBay account suspension that prevented them from completing a sale and receiving payment for a pair of shoes. They were unable to verify their identity within the given time frame, resulting in the suspension and eBay withholding their payment. golfingaddict advised that eBay likely refunded the buyer, and dragonfi_7232 still owes fees. dragonfi_7232 is frustrated with eBay's support, as they can't access their account to pay the fees or receive assistance. golfingaddict suggested paying the fees to resolve the issue, but dragonfi_7232 remains dissatisfied due to the lack of communication and difficulty in accessing their account.
I’m dealing with an issue where I made an eBay account and I was selling a pair of shoes and I’m a very busy person so I only had a couple of days to verify my identity with my ID but I was busy working and I didn’t get to it so I never actually received payment for the shoes payment was sent, but it was on hold through eBay so that I can send the shoes to eBay to get verified so I never got the payment before I could verify my account. My account was suspended and then permanently suspended by eBay for whatever reason I don’t know afterwards eBay has been sending my email about collecting unpaid fees, which doesn’t make any sense because I was never able to receive any funds and it’s also saying now since it’s been so long that they’re going to send it to a collection agency I’ve been trying to get a hold of eBay through support to talk to somebody about this situation and clear it up so they can either unblock my account so I can get fees and then I will so I can get fees for selling the shoes and then I will pay whatever selling fee you have to pay, but my account that owes the fees is permanently suspended. I can’t even sell the shoes and I can’t get a hold of support getting a hold of support has been so difficult that it feels like a joke is being played on me support was supposed to call me. I missed the ring in my phone was sitting next to me which means they called for maybe point1 second and then hung up and then now when I ask the AI to call me again it says that it’s having technical difficulties so I don’t have time to sit here with my phone all day and try to get a hold of support I’m either gonna forget or I have other things to do and I also can’t afford to have them sending making claims to a collection agency that don’t even make sense because I don’t owe eBay anything I wasn’t even able to sell anything on the website so I shouldn’t have any fees. Sure other people get have had it issues like this I’m sure maybe cause me I don’t have time to even be making this review so I’m sure other people have dealt with this and then they just don’t have the energy to even ask for help or make a post like this, but this is absolutely ridiculous and I’m to the point where I’m about to just like make a YouTube video or something cause this is completely unacceptable when my account was for suspended for not being able to verify in time which was a very short window it was like four days but mind you eBay I was just about to start it. It was gonna be my first sale and I shouldn’t have been banned for not verifying my ED ID right away. It doesn’t make any sense but the whole thing just feels like a scam. I’m definitely not gonna use eBay ever again after this and I need some type of support because things are tough as it is. I’m getting scammed by eBay and I need some type of help before they either I don’t know if it’s gonna hurt my credit or what owing them this money that they claim I owe them so if anybody can like, I don’t know help me out from this. Let me know.

Mentor1 week agoDid you sell the shoes?
Did the buyer pay?
Did you ship the shoes?
eBay doesn't just "forget" if you listed and sold an item. The buyer that pays doesn't just forget if they pay for an item.
You need to be more clear about what exactly happened without al the extraneous details so that we can help you.
From what I can interpret from your post is that you owe eBay money and if you don't pay, they will send it to collections.
Since you still have some communication with eBay, why not just pay what you owe them?

OP1 week ago · EditedI thought I said that in the original post no I was never able to ship the shoes because my account was suspended before I had a chance to do that and the person paid for the shoes, but I never received payment and it got sent to eBay and was on hold so I don’t actually have the payment and eBay should be able to send that money back. The person also told me that they didn’t want the shoes afterwards and messages so I never shipped the shoes and I never received payment for the shoes. Also, the account that owes the money is banned so I can’t even log into the account and I can’t actually get in touch with eBay. I can only talk to a support. I have not been able to talk to anybody in eBay at all the one time I tried to at the very beginning of the issue they said they couldn’t un ban my account due to risks so there why would I pay money if I never receive payment and it doesn’t make any sense

OP1 week agoI’m gonna send one more reply and try to make it clear as possible because I don’t think you understand what I’m saying but the person paid for the shoes. I never received the money. The money goes into holding on eBay side. I was given four days to verify my account. I did not verify my account in that four days due to working and being busy as it’s my first time ever using a eBay and they banned my account so I never was given the opportunity to ship the shoes and I never received payment. The payment is still in eBay‘s hands. It’s in holding so eBay gave the money back to the person. I don’t know what happened to it, but it never went to my account. I never received payment for the shoes.

Mentor1 week agoIf the buyer paid, and you did not ship, eBay would have to refund the buyer.
When eBay steps in like this, you still have to pay the fees that you owe eBay.
You can't just be "busy" or forget to ship. New sellers do not immediately get payouts for the items they sell, but they can use those funds to pay for the shipping.
It sounds like you got in over your head and tried to sell without verifying your payout information and personal data information that eBay requires.
At this point, the best thing you can do is pay the money you owe.

OP1 week agoWell, if that will get me out of having to pay more money in the future, even though I believe that this is terrible business practices I guess I should. I will just pay it but then again my account is banned so I can’t log into the account to even see how much I owe even in the email that says click this to make a one time payment. I don’t have access to it because I can’t log into my account so the whole thing is really just messy and it doesn’t. It doesn’t make sense for it to be this messy if I owe money, but I can’t even log into my account to pay it and also I can’t even get in contact with support so it’s like I don’t even know what to do at this point and it shouldn’t be this difficult. It’s it’s terrible business practice. I’m pretty sure if people knew that this is what you do was like even even if it says it’s required like not everybody the normal person doesn’t read the fine print or agreements they really don’t. They just click except so the fact that you can’t even talk. I can’t even get a hold of support to help straighten things out and give a chance to make things right it’s really just disgusting and it just seems very scammy. And I’m gonna say it again so it doesn’t get lost in translation. I can’t log into my account so I don’t even have the option to pay for it.

OP1 week ago · EditedThey paid for the shoes I never got the money it went into holding, and before I could ship the shoes, my account was banned so eBay has the money it’s in holding. I never got the money. My account got banned before I could even send the shoes so the question is did they really pay for the shoes? I don’t think so. Can I still send the shoes? No, I can’t. My account is banned so why why would I act as if I got paid for the shoes and then send them
