Why is my shipping costs more than what the buyer paid me for shipping?
I only sell items occasionally. Frequently, my shipping costs are more than what the buyer pays me for shipping. I check all my shipping options. Even the lowest costs is more than what my buyer paid. Am I missing something? I’m not trying to make money on shipping, just want the costs covered.

Are you using Calculated Shipping?
Are you sure you are checking the service, weight, and dimensions again when you create the label?
