WHY IS EBAY'S TRACKING NON EXISTENT/ TERRIBLE?
EBAY IS SHOOTING IT'S SELF IN THE FOOT.!!!!! YES, THIS IS IN ALL CAPS, BECAUSE I AM SCREAMING ANGRY WITH EBAY TRACKING! IT DOES NOT EXIST! IN THE NOT TOO FAR PAST, IF YOU WANTED SOMETHING FOR A LOWER PRICE AND WAS WILLING TO WAIT A LITTLE LONGER, THE PLACE TO SHOP WAS EBAY. NOW, AMAZON IS ALMOST ALWAYS LESS EXPENSIVE FOR ANYTHING NEW, AND YOU GET IT QUICKER WITH EXCELLENT TRACKING AND ARRIVAL DATES. EBAY IS MORE EXPENSIVE ON ALMOST EVERY ITEM, TRACKING IS TERRIBLE WITH THEIR NEW SYSTEM, IF YOU EVER GET THE ITEM AT ALL!!! I AM HAVING TO QUIT MY LIKED AND SAVED SELLERS BECAUSE OF EBAY TRACKING/LOSING OF ITEMS!!!

In addition to the information provided by @lady_madonna , are you looking in your Purchase History? The tracking # for each order will be there if the seller uploaded it and you'll see movement on your orders. This is the same system that has been in place for years and years and years.
Unfortunately, there are some sellers that do not post tracking or don't ship at all, but the vast majority do ship with tracking. Those that don't receive defects on their seller metrics and will find that their selling career was a short one because they didn't follow policy.

Mentor8 months agoIt is not necessary for buyers to track their items since Ebay provides the estimated date of delivery. If I see that an item will arrive by/on a certain date, I can relax and do whatever I need to do without having to check every day as to where the package is. If it does not arrive by that date, I file a Refund Request.
Sellers are not required to use tracking nor provide buyers with tracking #'s.
>>"TRACKING IS TERRIBLE WITH THEIR NEW SYSTEM"<< What "new system" are you referring to?
In regards to "EBAY IS MORE EXPENSIVE ON ALMOST EVERY ITEM", the sellers choose prices of their items for sale, not Ebay. In the case of auctions, the selling price is determined by the bidders
Tracking progress is provided by the shipping company, not Ebay.
There is no way of Ebay "losing items" since Ebay doesn't ship anything.
