Why is Buyer Responsible for False Delivery Report
The USPS falsely reported an item delivered. I am stuck without the product I ordered and the money I paid for it. Why do I have suffer the loss. I had no control over any aspect of this. Normally, usps is the most secure delivery, because they can put the package into my locked mailbox. In this case, the carrier reported the item left on my porch at my door. I don't have a porch. I have 2nd floor apartment. Leaving it at my door means out on the street completely unprotected. I don't the package was ever delivered. If it had been, it would locked into my mailbox.
What kind of stupid deal is this?

OP2 years agoThe seller had my money. The carrier falsely reported delivery. My money was gone, the carrier said they delivered, when they had not.
So I was left with a loss.

Once again, your issue is with the shipping company. Have you contacted USPS to investigate via their GPS technology exactly where the item was delivered?

OP2 years agoYes I have. They said they had no evidence except for the report entered by the person who was supposed to deliver it, but who did not deliver it. I filed a complaint that lead to an investigation. The result of the investigation was "no further action, case closed."
I was informed I could initiate action in court, but proving I had not received the item was something i had no way t do.

Neither Ebay nor the seller is responsible issues with where the carrier leaves the item. Contact the carrier.
