why have the prices gotten so high for used merchandise over the last year or so?
everything has increased in price drastically over the past year or so, ie, used or refurbished hard drives for one, the prices for a used drive are new drive prices. There is other merchandise that is outrageously expensive for being used or refurbished. You can buy new and pay less. Are the prices going to come down any time soon?

Some items I would not buy used or refurbished but get them from an authorized dealer. Each Seller sets their own price and due to the scarcity of items you are referring to prices may be going up and not down. If you can get a new one for the same money or less then buy new. Nothing wrong with that.
