why does ebay money back guarantee not cover my (non-delivered) order?
Ordered something from china. Seller did not deliver, reported this to ebay and their automated reply notified me that the order was not covered - but why? Its not explained in all the ebay information I found.

What is the item number, if you do not mind sharing?
Or, failing that, what category is it listed in, and when did you buy it?

OP9 months agoSure, it was item number 167856927618. Its an optical component for a telescope.

Mentor9 months agoThat listing appears to have ended without a sale in early December, though there is an indication the listing was edited to change the quantity in November when one was sold.
The listing does have a link to the eBay money back guarantee. If you purchased that listing you should be able to use your money back guarantee so long as you filed a case within the 30 day time-frame.

OP9 months agoYes, I didnt file the claim within 30 days. Never again will I allow a seller extra time for delivery!

Mentor9 months agoYou may still have recourse through your payment method; PayPal and many credit cards offer up to six months of protection from the date of purchase for items that are not received.
