why does eBay ignore this? this is a major problem with a seller...
Steps to the story:
- Bid and won an auction.
- Paid and awaited shipment of the item for more than 5 days.
- Contacted seller with a request to cancel the sale due to their non-shipment / beyond delivery date.
- Seller rudely responded, blocked me, waited the full 3 days on the cancellation request, and then denied the cancellation, all while relisting, selling, and receiving payment for the exact lot. (Basically getting paid twice).
- I still haven't been refunded. Refund request fully ignored by the seller, and eBay's amazing system isn't updating and allowing me to ask for eBay to refund/step-in/settle this craziness. (Yes i have spoken to the phone help agent..)
- Purchase date of 4/21, today is 5/5.
What kind of thieving system is this? So much for that Buyers Protection. If the seller would have just sent the items when they were to be sent, this entire fiasco would never have happened. So now I am punished, my money is in LaLa-land for weeks, all because some ignorant seller breaks policy. Do bad sellers no longer get reprimanded? I still cant do anything since the seller is not responding to the refund request. This was the phone assistances suggestion. Yup worked great!...
I've been a longtime seller on here (since 2010), this is the 2nd most idiotic thing I have found with the eBay system.

OP5 months agoits fairly simple math.
item not sold to person who purchased item, refund money.
Is it really that hard for eBay to see what the seller is doing? Do they purposefully ignore the obvious?
Click the sellers name. Seller sold lot twice. Only one buyer got items. One buyer stuck in limbo with missing funds. Refund buyer who got nothing for his money.
Simple, straight forward logic here...

OP5 months agoI'm guessing the details have been miss read.
Initial case was a cancellation due to their lack of shipping skills, which the seller cancelled the at the last moment (after 3 days of waiting).
Its been on request refund since the seller denied the cancellation. The day the seller denied the cancellation they had already relisted the items that eBay says I'm supposed to be patient with delivery of, lol...
The seller already relisted and resold the items, so I'm waiting for nothing (if only eBay could use their own tools to see this...).

Mentor5 months agoI don't know for sure what you mean by 'request refund'.
Did you open and Item Not Received Case and is that what says "Status: Awaiting seller response"
If so, 72 hours after you opened it, you'll be able to Ask eBay to Step in.
I understand and believe you about the situation; you have to follow eBay's processes. They can't examine in detail millions of transactions each day.
Having an Item Nor Received case goes on the seller's record.
eBay keeps track of 'problem' metrics so the seller will be restricted at a certain point.
You can also report that seller here: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/working-sellers/report-seller-listing?id=4022
Click "Report a seller"
Choose " The seller has violated one of eBay's policies"
Choose "Seller doesn’t want to complete the sale"
Explain what happened.

What is the status of the case as shown here?:
https://www.ebay.com/help/ip?topicId=4667
After 72 hours, you can click to "Ask eBay to Step In"
(A cancellation request is different that an Item Not Received case)

I am sorry this happened.
eBay's Money Back Guarantee should apply: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/-/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210
Here is how to formally request a refund of your full payment when an item doesn't arrive:
1) Look at your purchase history here: https://www.ebay.com/mye/myebay/purchase
- View Order Details
- Check the Estimated Delivery Date for your purchase, and
- Check the tracking for your purchase
When it is past the estimated delivery date (and there is no tracking, or the tracking doesn’t show that is close to delivery):
2) Open an "Item Not Received Case". You can do that right here by clicking on the photo of your item and following the steps: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/-/reporting-item-didnt-receive?id=4042
(If it is not yet time for a case to be opened, it will give you the exact date after you click the photo.)
You will be able to select whether you want the Item or a Refund
-- You have 30 days from the estimated delivery date to open a case)
3) You can check the status of your case here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/ip?topicId=4667
The seller must respond within 3 business days to provide a delivery update, offer a replacement, or give you a refund. If the seller doesn't respond after 72 hours, ask eBay to Step In. You must do this before 21 days after the case was opened.
