Why does Ebay hold your funds when tracking shows the package you sent the buyer was delivered?
This infuriates me. Buyer contacted me, said the Tracking shows their package delivered to their mailbox, but it isn't there. I messaged them a copy of the shipping label and suggested they contact their local post office. Buyer said that neighbors were complaining b/c stuff was showing "delivered" but didn't arrive for a few days.
Today he opened a case against me and Ebay is holding my funds. If a package shows delivered, it is NOT my responsibility anymore. Perhaps porch pirates, delivered to wrong house, etc. Why doesn't Ebay automatically resolve this?

Mentor8 months ago@possum-pie I understand that having your funds held is frustrating.
Be sure to respond to the case with tracking that shows delivery if the tracking number is not already entered.
You will win the case but your funds can be held for up to 35 days before the case closes out.

OP8 months agoYeah, I know...But eBay ALWAYS penalized the seller until otherwise proven. I've been an eBay buyer/seller since 1996 and I'm sick of their policy. If they want SELLERS, they had better quit punishing them

Mentor8 months ago@possum-pie eBay did pass a new policy in October where they will refund you for INR refunds if the item arrives after issuing a refund. This doesn't apply to your case but just mentioning that it is a step in the right direction> https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/news/2025-september/inr-policy-updates
I agree that the funds shouldn't be held so long if tracking shows delivery. Hopefully that will change in the future too.

OP8 months agoGot it...Here is the bottom-line question: Ebay gets a request for refund b/c item not received. Ebay has Tracking info b/c Seller used Ebay shipping label. Ebay KNOWS item was delivered. Ebay STILL holds funds until it decides it's metrics are correct. WHY? If they keep screwing sellers, people won't sell anymore. I've been an Ebayer since 1996!!!!!!!!! 20 years. but I'm done with them at this point.
